Should have explained to your parents that if anyone favors kings, it’s dims. They are the ones that anointed Harris as the nominee without winning the nomination or getting a single vote. Sued to keep
RFK jr off of the ballot and tried to have Trump removed from state ballots.

They're probably senile. No offense. I'm pretty surprised that 90 year olds would be such huge libs. They must be OG hippies.

With them being that old, just let them have it unopposed. They'll be kicking off soon, Makes no difference and could alleviate anxiety for them.

I think this goes back to the fact the democrats from the 70s would be considered radical right wing today argument. Pretty sure my parents have always been democrats but the party has moved further to the right and they are stuck in just being in the Democratic Party and agreeing with anything that party supports.

I get that. My mom was a yellow dog democrat. She grew up in Alabama, my dad was republican. They met at Ft, Rucker back in the 1950's. She was conservative but did not realize. Yellow Dogs are hard to change but did not change my love for her.

I remember a conversation I had with my wife's grandfather, I wasn't married to her at the time, back in the 1983 when Jesse Jackson was running for running for president. He was a yellow dog democrat, retired TVA employee, IBEW union man. He was a bit racist, big understatement, but he told me he rather vote for a "ni__er" than vote for a republican. If you knew how racist he was you would understand how much he hated republicans.

My daughter told me that my 80ish lifelong Democrat mother went with her to register to vote and encouraged her to register as a Republican.

thankfully they're in their 90's and won't be around much longer, because this country already has enough stupid, easily controlled, self-hating, Woke White people.

My daughter is a bleeding heart liberal. The only time i mention politics is when things are indisputable. Like shooting of the Healthcare CEO or LA burning from the wildfires. Other than that we don't discuss politics unless she brings it up.

Whatever you do, do not act childish like the left would and disown them or stop talking to them. These left loons are constantly bating close family members. Look at their social media. Don’t take the bait….

I am extremely fortunate as my 90-year-old mother is absolutely incredible — tough as nails, sharp as ever, and MAGA as hell!

My dad passed away at 84 before Covid. My mom will soon be 90, and both were/are MAGA.

This not only is the proper tact, you are to be commended for doing so.

Well Democratic HERO Joy Reid said the following and they all cheered:

MSNBC host Joy Reid made comments suggesting that some people may choose to avoid family members who supported Donald Trump in the election.

that’s kinda what happens to old people

I'm still 3 years away from that threshold, but I can verify that conclusion - I vividly remember my mother telling me that 'if they put it in 'the papers' it has to be true => I subconsciously transferred that supposed "axiom" to radio and TV.

It took me until the aftermath of the Nixon administration to see that axiom was flawed in the modern era. I came within a coin-flip of voting for Carter all because Ford pardoned Nixon for the Watergate 'lie'.

It became clear to me that what we saw in print or on TV required background check and until that time I only had time for work and family time. That is when I began paying more attention to what is going on in politics - and to doubt anything in the 'news' that didn't comport with my logical analysis of what I knew to be true. I became a journeyman political junkie, devoting vastly more time to analyzing what politicians were saying than should be necessary in a healthy society.

Since the turn of the century none of my basic understanding of how the two major parties acted have been proven false - and as of this date nothing the Democrat party has ever advocated has been anything but a ball-faced lie wrapped in a thin veneer of 'plausible deniability' - a veneer so thin that nobody but a blithering idiot or a subhuman fellow traveller could possibly believe anything they uttered.

The GOP is only a shade better - BUT they have one advantage - there ARE some wholesome, patriotic, intelligent people in leadership positions there who actually BELIEVE in supporting the American culture and guarding it from predations by evil forces.

There is no worthwhile quality evident in the democrat party - their leadership is manifestly evil - and their followers are sheep - and their proponents are nothing more than paid whores.

The oddest thing to me is the sudden shift of old white people to the far left and the younger generations to the right

I guess the MSM propaganda affects older audiences more

Agree..likely cause they watch so much more tv. My 92 y/o dad said yesterday the media was the biggest poison in our country and hard to disagree.
