Back then, a nice house was a 3/2 Ranch on a quarter acre lot. You can do that today working an in-demand blue color job with zero college debt.

Something I wish was taught in our hs's rather than "go to college or be dead in a ditch!"

I was doing that, but quit

Stop victim blaming. The people destroying the country are the frauds that inhabit our government and have created monopolistic cartels in every major industry. Competition has been destroyed, bought up, or been made illegal. The corporate media now has control over nearly all means of communication, art, and entertainment. They divide you by race, gender, age, political tribe, etc to keep you from fighting them.

America is now nothing but a scam meant to destroy the wealth of the middle class and condense it into an ever-shrinking pool of elites. They want to make serfs of everyone, and the moment they don't need the serfs anymore, there won't be any serfs.

Generations tend to be 20 year age ranges, so generations are often "raised" by members of the generation 2 iterations back.

Nothing some good ol breadlines won’t fix. Have to hit bottom before we can reverse trend. Our generation is full of indoctrinated pusses but I blame the boomers and Xers for that.

Yes that's the generations in order but the begat usually skips a generation

Silent Generation spawned X
Boomer spawned Millenials
Gen X spawned Z
Millenials spawned Alpha
Z spawn undefined genration
Alpha - Hopefully not breeding yet

Blame that on yours and the previous generation on living above their means, college’s for everyone, younger groups voting for people that ruin things like giving free shitt to the people that vote them in . What made it work 30 - 60 years ago was a population that saved and did without to build a life . The call this the me generation but it’s also the I need it now and I want a top job now generation

The housing market is stupid right now. However I lived simply and bought 2 houses by age 31 both of which I put 20% down. I had kids at the time and had the first one by the time I was 26. I also send them to really good schools in an expensive city. How did I do it? And honestly I am only a year older than being a millennial.

1. I worked all the time. Even if it wasn’t the job of my dream I was working.
2. I always buy used, simple autos.
3. I don’t go on tons of expensive vacations.
4. I saved my money so that when the opportunity to buy the house I wanted appeared I could strike quickly. I also bought an ordinary home in need of major repairs and renovation that I did myself because I am a man.

Priorities are the key. Go make it happen.

I figure it's more Gen Xers who've raised Millennials. Am I wrong on that?

I'm an early/mid 70s Gen-Xer w a one and almost three year old. Life threw me a few curveballs so i can't be blamed for raising any Ms.

I have a few who work for me, and they are smart and work hard.

Alright I think I'm on it now.

I tend to get confused because there's barely 20 years between myself and our eldest, creating a slight bit of confusion.

Millenials suck but they walked into a shitty situation. They didn't vote for government backed student loans they didn't vote for regulation that creates thousands of layers of bureaucracy for businesses.

I was 26 when Obama won in 2008. That puts me a very very old millennial or very very very young Gen X.

It was 100% millennials who voted for him and put him in office and are very much to blame for a lot of today’s troubles. He was a rockstar in their mind.

I was completely disillusioned with Republicans and had no love for John McCain, but I was old enough to understand that the things Obama was proposing would lead to a total government take over.

Acting like Millennials haven’t been voting since 2000 or 2004 is being purposely ignorant.

Also, millennial is more of a mindset than an age.

I moved out at 19, worked my arse off to graduate debt free and never went back home. Married at 21, and immediately went into my career.

My sister is 4 years older than me, lived at home till she was 27, graduated with an English lit degree with debt, complains about the debt, then went to work for my parents and bought her first 1000 sq foot house for her and her cat at 40. She posts about how Greg Abbot is killing Texans and her new favorite Netflix show every day.

Came from the same loins.

You get what you vote for. It’d be great if everyone 28-37 moved across the pond.

Yeah being a Millennial myself, the forever childhood thing is a fricking embarrassment. People have had it too easy for too long, and blame has to also be placed on the generation that raised them. With that being said it’s a very complex issue on how we got here. The job market that boomers and Gen X could make a living raising a nuclear family is long over. The solution? I have no idea.

I’m sick of millennial blaming boomers. First, pelosi, Schumer etc are not boomers but above that

Second,
quote:

Millennials overtake Baby Boomers as America’s largest generation

Third, it is your own fault you pussies could not figure out how to live the American dream that was pretty much handed to you.

Grow the frick up and fix these problems. Save yourselves before it’s too late. It’s not hard, we gave you Reagan and Trump… forgive us for the bush clan

Traditional society was heavily damaged in the 20th century, and the traditional ceremonies, taking you into adulthood were destroyed. So there was no clear break between childhood, and adulthood.

One example of this blurring today? Look at how grown men dress like children.

The traditional roles men held in society were attacked and destroyed as well though. And so we stepped into a world where we had no obligations, and no responsibilities.

Jung and Mary-Louise von Franz wrote about this extensively. Jung called them the Puer Aeternus.

But this is a completely un-serious country right now, and the millenials are the ones driving the clown car.

Who do you think is at the top of these institutions? It isn't millennials. Boomers are the ones who drive society.

Why would someone with this lifestyle care about things like China, the border, civil liberties, manufacturing jobs, independent energy, or safe neighborhoods? They have the luxury to place stupid shite high on the priority list, it gives them a purpose in life. And it fricks everyone else including their own future.

Lmao, you're the only enlightened millenial to exist. /s

Every millennial thinks they're unique and born in the wrong generation - you're fitting the stereotype.
