Without reading everything, this being called textbook in any capacity is horrifying. If so, the potential for copycat events will be significant.

Okay. So what are we arguing here. Maybe he never saw the guy. Maybe he saw him and though he was local PD. Maybe he did think he was a bad guy and just fricked up and actually did come off the rifle.

Which should have immediately caused SS to crash on to Trump and get him covered immediately. It seems pretty clear SS was alerted to his presence. It is criminal that they did not get Trump covered until the threat was neutralized.
