As a SONG, it fricking sucks.

Idk...I kinda like his voice

He has a decent Country voice. It is the writing that sucks. He sacrifices rhythm, meter ... well, everything ... for the political point he wants to make.

Townes Van Zandt, Lucinda Williams or Kris Kristofferson, his is not. It is just not a well-crafted song.

Compare it to Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American," which is actually a well-written song.

The fact that he said things that this forum wanted to hear does NOT make him a good songwriter. It just makes him one of the club.

This is a prime example of why America is lost. There is a large segment of the population, probably 40-45 percent who are reactionary, emotional, and are simply incapable of coherent thought or a discussion on virtually any topic. There just aren’t enough clear thinking adults who are capable of understanding rational thought any longer to offset them.

They are not really directed at you. The chances of YOU wanting to either (a) learn something or (b) consider any viewpoint other than your own ... are slim.

It just funny how this guy’s song is cut from the cloth of Fellow Traveler Woody Guthrie, yet this man has been referred to as a “ right wing extremist” by some in the media.

Did a rich man north of Richmond make him hate other poor people? Or just fat people?

Be fat on your own dime, fat.

He ignored it, deflected from and avoided the point in one fell swoop.
He was looking to be offended to distract from the song's subject matter, whose concept should offend us all for it's truthfulness.

Oh yes they do. Every poor person is a potential Democrat vote. Gotta keep them on the plantation.

It’s stupid that you people are so concerned about what’s going on someone else’s house.

I’m not fat, or poor. But your stupidity sure is stinking up the place.

No..watching "poor people" use food stamps to buy better meat than he could afford for his own family, just to feed their dogs.. since they can't buy dog food with foid stamps, made him super dislike them..
Oh, and watching them get into their Yukons with that meat....and fudge rounds....well, that stings.

It is our concern when they spending our money to keep themselves fat instead of getting healthy and getting a job. Being fat and lazy isn't a disability.

Many Democrats are fine with the insanity as long as they keep getting their checks.
