There's been a huge influx of new account trolls here in the last 6 months, all skewing left.

Actual bots are easy to spot.

Most 'bots" on this board live in the imagination of certain posters.

There's a difference between actual computer controlled bots and trolls. This board clearly has been bombed by some other forum, probably Reddit. Not just here, but the coaching changes board too. You can tell by the names. It's always something like BigDeal145. That's the typical format of generic, auto-generated usernames.

You know who has never had a foreign sockpuppet account influence them? The people who don't let anyone influence them and use their own internal analysis to form ideas, arguments, and policy preferences

I would normally agree with this statement. But a guy with half a million posts on this board, cant seem to see the forest for the trees. Especially while not recognizing that he is constantly trying to influence ideas, policy preferences and opinions on here

A lot

Are you seeing this now and agreeing? Many of us, for years, have been trying to blow the whistle that what we see on the internet isn't an accurate representation of real-life.

Love him or hate him or anything in between- Elon Musk has singlehandedly done more for the betterment of America than anyone else in our lifetimes. He's a weird, quirky dude but he sees the truth and wants everyone else to see it too.

I mean on X. Part of Elon's push for it being a bastion of free speech comes also from the realm of transparency. Faux provocateurs engaging in large-scale agitprop should have no place in such an environment.

Nothing, but at least make them work for it.

There are a few that I’m 100% certain are Russian. John Barron, for starters.

I am sure everyone knows "not the bee" website - here is their analysis of it, links to the fraudsters, etc.

I want to see them take it further. Real pictures, real names, real people ONLY.

Force everyone to stand behind everything they say. I recognize this would absolutely crush their business and they’ll never do it but I wonder if there will ever be a social media company try and create such a platform.

That flies in the face of every basic free speech tenet in the history of ever. Many of the Founders operated under pen names to escape persecution for daring to oppose the Crown.

As far as more modern applications go, real names and faces would be great if it wasn't for the fact that liberal filth everywhere are insistent on keeping cancel culture going as strong as possible, and will not hesitate even as we come close to 2026, ruining people's lives because they dare hold beliefs that are not within the progressive religion.

In all actuality I don’t think most believe what they put out, it’s just highly lucrative rage bait that people like this board latch into to justify to themselves hating other people and their side is better

I wish there was a feature on X where you can block accounts by region. I’d rather not see any X accounts from India and the ME.

I'm pretty sure you've missed my point. What I'm suggesting is a free market solution, not government intervention.

This hypothetical social media app would be voluntary (just like they all are now), the only difference is no bots, fake names, foreign influencers, grifter types. Only real individuals using their real name and photos, etc. All validated in one way or another.

I think people will eventually get so frustrated with all the garbage (bots, grifters, foreign actors, etc.) that there will be a market for a social media platform which is only comprised of real people. Any other platform people will lose all trust in, which I think you're already seeing happening.

I understand that would crush their current business model (which is why you'll never see someone like twitter or tiktok do it) but I think market demand will eventually change.

It wouldn't work, for the same reason the person appearing to call from your area code and exchange (first seven numbers) is really calling from India. Changing locations with site to site VPNs for text/voice SPAM farms is quite cheap.

You can be an example on TD. What is your name? Please share your picture.

The group of sky screamers who hate Trump and call posters liberals is definitely weird here.
