When bonds improve enough intraday, mortgage lenders occasionally adjust rates lower. Not every lender did so today, but it would enough to bring the average down to 7.22%--the first time we've been below 7.25% since September 22nd.

We need these rates to go up, not down. Dropping rates are only going to cause higher home prices.

Moronic take

The reason houses are so expensive (in desirable areas at least) is because there's a supply shortage because nobody in their right mind is giving up their 2-3% mortgage and moving. Starter homes stay forever homes

It depends on where you are but when the borders go away in 2 years today’s rent and home prices will be peanuts

The entitled whiny temper tantrum class wont be happy until rates are below 3% and they can buy a mansion at 25 just like all the boomers did.

Who knew having 10's of millions of illegals in the country...some of which get government housing...would cause a problem in housing?

You are as dumb as the OP lol the Fed left rates unchanged which impacted the bond market. You could raise rates to 25% and it wouldn’t decrease home prices enough to offset mortgage rates. Homes are investments not just dwellings so by your logic the wealth of virtually every American household would be dramatically decreased on top of crushing interest and the interest alone on bonds would increase the debt payments

Some of y'all need to make some realtor friends.

Sure, there's a supply shortage in high-demand areas, but that has nothing to do with the market. That's always the case no matter what's going on in the economy. There is absolutely not a supply shortage in general.

We have a pretty typical housing supply right now.

You guys told us voting out MAGA was necessary because Trump wasn't fixing our problems. What happened? Surely you guys didn't spend all your time pushing people to democrats when they didn't have the solutions you were crying about.

That would be stupid and reckless, and you conservatives always think things through.

So what's the plan? America First voters would never hand the keys to the anti-America party without a guaranteed plan. I'm excited to hear it.
