a bit of a stretch
As the image in the OP readily indicates, the only “stretch” at play here is the suggestion that the new flag design does not borrow heavily from the Juba Valley state flag in Somalia. Yet the following report from the Alden media conglomerate — one of the largest owners of newspapers in the United States — makes no mention of the similarities to that Somalian flag and the obvious design inspiration the Somalian flag provided for the new Minnesota flag.
This piece is a perfect example of how “fake news” does not necessarily have to contain erroneous information: the “abstract” symbolism described in this news item was without doubt retrofitted after the fact to justify the design inspiration for the new Minnesota state flag. Yet it is fake news nonetheless through the sin of omission because it deliberately fails to mention that the new flag design was obviously inspired by the Somali state flag.
Commission selects a final concept for the redesigned Minnesota state flag….
….it’s a flag with white, green and light blue horizontal stripes and a navy blue section on the left that mimics the shape of Minnesota. In that section is an eight-point white star meant to symbolize the state’s motto “Star of the North” as well as unity in a diverse land.
The white stripe symbolizes snow, the green stripe represents nature and agriculture, and the light blue stripe represents the state’s waters — from its more than 10,000 lakes to the Mississippi River. Prekker says the “swallow tail” design is unique among flags of the world, and that he wanted to keep it as simple as possible.

Minnesota population is about 5.8 million
Somali population in the state is around 90k
So 1.5%
That's 90k and 1.5% too many. Thanks Obama.

100% changing the state flag

After doing some light research, the current flag of Jubaland is only 10 years old and has no historical significance.
These were the previous post-independence flags
Also there was apparently a period in 2006-2007 when an Islamist organization took over the area and it's flag was a "black flag with Arabic inscription ". Then in 2009 it fell under rule by al-Shabab who used, "a white flag with black star and the Shahada with a sword below".
So the baddies flags look nothing like the current regime's flags. Just FWIW.

That’s not the Somali flag. The Somali flag is blue with a single white star in the middle.
point out that Somalia stole their flag design from Bonnie Blue and watch heads explode

Minnesota population is about 5.8 million
Somali population in the state is around 90k
So 1.5%
The remaining 98.5% seem to be letting them have run of the place.

And so freaking what? I make no claim whatsoever on the historical significance of the current Jubaland flag. The point here is it is obvious to anyone who doesn’t have their head up their @ss that the submitted design for new Minnesota state flag was obviously inspired by the Somalian state flag.

Life is much easier typing on your laptop on your L-shaped couch on Twitter than actually doing something productive to improve things. These people are such phonies.

Shouldn’t the new flag have something like this on it?

LA will have to change their flag once the perpetually offended realize the brown pelican is actually white.

Not surprised as Africa is the biggest waste space on the planet considering their natural resources.
They have done nothing to evolve there as a culture.
Hmm now that I think of it, this seems to be a pattern even here in the states in many of our “cultural” areas.

Tail wagging the timid dog.
Minnesotans are very kind, down to earth people but they’ve always been politically insane to their own eventual ultimate detriment.

Muslims are admonished to "Be as a sheep among sheep and a goat among goats, but once you are many then become as wolves and lions to pillage and destroy the unbelievers."

So 1.5%
So you're confirming that the entire state has submitted to the ideology of 1.5% of the population.
Go on record as to whether or not you find this acceptable?
