Find out how members of Congress will evade the tax themselves, and do the same thing.

$420 billion over a decade

$1M in income hits a lot of small businesses. If you have you have to reach that low to get to only 420B over a decade, you can see that there's very little benefit from a revenue perspective to taxing the "rich".

And, of course, you'd be creating a barrier to small businesses who have potential to grow.

How can you even think that seeing as how the US government has been such good stewards of our tax money thus far? ..

There are very few places worse to put money than in government. Of course, it's not so good if it goes to build a factory in China either.

We definitely have a long history of the have nots fighting wars on behalf of the haves and their interests. I agree.

That 40 billion per year would cover around 2.5 days' worth of spending.

Let’s be consistent. Most of the DOGE cuts are less than that. The budget will get fixed with a lot of “small” things adding up.

The haves pay for everything.

Maybe its time to make Joe Six Pack pay a little more of the "fair share" if you baws want taxes raised so much.

Taxing the rich is kind of silly, when you get to a certain point income isnt where they are getting their wealth.

Isn't it already 37% ? So it's to raise it another 3%?

Is part of the proposal to make state income taxes deductible from the total? Or those would be on top of the 40%?
