It's incredibly pathetic that he and other republicans want to raise the age of retirement, Hoping you die before you get them or die soon after. I say this as a 3x trump voter. Clowns

Meh… if you get COL increases you can get life expectancy increases too.

It wasn’t meant to last 20-30years.

It has to happen. Simple as that.

The tax on it has increased to account for that difference

No you don’t but Republicans are inept at best and it’s likely intentional because they hate Trump

Musta not been enough… or else we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

Since 1935, the age of benefit has only increased like two years… I imagine life expectancy has outpaced greatly.

The total taxable amount has increased roughly 16 fold even when you adjust for inflation.

We need to find a way to fund it even if it's taking from tariff revenues or something else.

We need to put the money back in the fund and make it untouchable.

OR

Refund all of us to the penny and cancel it all together.

I'd be ok with either of those scenarios

Republicans as a whole have been a huge disappointment so far. I always vote Republican but sometimes you just have to shake your head and wonder just what are they doing..

When taking out deaths under the age of 7, the life expectancy has actually declined when comparing 1935 to today.

What I looked at was the life expectancy of a 65 year old in 1935 vs a 65 year old today.

In 1935, a 65yr old could expect 12-14 additional years. Today, the range is 18-21 additional years.

That’s quite an increase.

It was never designed as a retirement system and that is the crux of the problem. The population has increased exponentially since the 1930’s and the formula no longer adds

The guy who whined that $174,000 wasn't enough to support his family also says it's too hard to pay you 19 grand a year at 65? That sounds about right.

The only alternative to raising the retirement age is to increase payroll taxes

This. Give me all the money back they have stolen from me for a fund that won't be around when I retire so I can invest it myself and triple it.

This isn’t true or you just didn’t make an apples to apples comparison.
If you take out deaths under 7 it should be done on both sides.
