Guess that would be me.

I had no idea people were arguing that he was running from the cop and the cop was justified in shooting him in the back once it was known he had been involved in previous robbery.

I cannot imagine it is legal to shoot someone running from cops, but I should get used to not being surprised with the laws in this country.

I'm discussing Nova. Google TN v. Garner and read a brief on it.

It is extremely relevant.

This I agree with, but if fighting with a cop, then he wasn't fleeing

I wish you were just watching CNN. They had two lawyers on and both said that saying that this revelation today doesnt change anything is ignoring the law in relation to these events.

Has there any credible reports that he was shot while fleeing?

I have heard he was shot while the cop was in the car and they were wrestling, I have heard he was fleeing and that he was kneeling with his hands up.

Would be great if video of the shooting would surface, or even audio from the cop.

They didn't even go to the store to ask for the security footage until the next day. Then because they didn't have the right equipment to look at it (I dunno, use the store's equipment?) they sat on it for some time. No rush I guess.

Wait, you said there was no report, no 9-11 call, no radio call.....

I guess you are just going to ignore the fact you were laughably wrong eh?

No worries.

I think they just got it on Wednesday night, which was when the scene of the robbery was investigated on site. So the police had the tape for one day before being released to the public.

Yeah, and somebody would have had to go through the tape, find the relevant few minutes, analyze and edit, all while anarchy is running rampant in the streets and (as somebody just said) the frickin store was getting burned to the ground!

Maybe to some, not to me. The question I have is all about the murder. Cops stop people all the time for being black but there is no outrage like this because they did not get killed.

People think the cop murdered the kid, that is why there is such outrage. I do not know if he did or not, but there is an awful lot of actions by the police that makes one go hhhmmmmmm

Give me a fricking break with this shite. It's 2014, not 1960. People of ALL frickING RACES, AND ALL NATIONALITIES get stopped all the time in this country.

I don't hear other races and nationalities whining all the time about how they were stopped because they were white, Asian, etc..etc..

Some people just can't accept the fact that they did SOMETHING to warrant a police contact and have to pull the race card.

To add.....this is not to say that there aren't bad cops out there. I know that there are some, but to state that black people get stopped for "being black" is ridiculous.

Of course that happens, and happens alot.

But, if you do not think that black people get pulled over in cases where you and I would not, then you are sadly mistaken.

My point was, that the protest and riots are not the result of the black community being upset about the kid being stopped simply for being black, although, that is part of their complaints, the protest/riots stem from the kid being shot.

Meh. None in that community out there looting and protesting was interested in the truth. They dont care that he is a felony robbery suspect at the time. That he was latter confirmed to have committed the crime.

I doubt many are going to be interested in listening to the shift in narrative by the liberals either as they look to create victims and point fingers instead of just looking at the facts and owning their misjudgments

Last night a state Rep was on tv. He is the rep. from that area. He said the black community has been upset with the police department for a while because they felt they were getting targeted in speeding tickets. The host asked about the speeding tickets and were whites in the area getting tickets too. The state rep. said yes and that it was a traffic camera.

Oh no. I was wrong. Nearly completely.

I could not in my wildest speculation imagine a policeforce would sit on information which could have defused a riot-provoking narrative. I never dreamed they would have allowed a narrative to feaster for days leading to deaths and millions of dollars of property destruction. So the story was allowed to run unfettered that an innocent pre-college kid was indiscriminately harassed by the PoPo, then shot-to-death.

Had the facts, as they were understood, been presented to the public at least some of the outrage might have been diffused. It's one of the most irresponsible PR demonstrations I can recall. Did not see that coming from an organization whose job is to protect and serve.

But bottomline, kilo you were dead-on correct.

It got better. He blamed the police department because some of these black youth had records because they didn't pay their ticket and had warrants out on them because of it.

Its hilarious that this is where all of you libs are heading, almost to a T. Blaming the force for due diligence in the investigation becasue they didnt get info out "fast" enough for you. Or crying about the release of info as the causation for the rioting instead of the folks who were out there doing that actual crime. The topper is that you admonish the police for not doing enough to stop the looting through information then slap them down when they use the means and equipment available to stop the rioting.

You all are one hypocritical hoot.
