Nothing says 'Christian' quite like late term abortion does.

If so, what makes this time so different?
I spent a lot of time explaining my position a few days ago in another thread. I'd rather not go there this time. I'm more concerned with the theology of positions this time around rather than the positions, themselves.

If people like Samson, David, Saul and Solomon weren't too flawed for God to use, then who are we to say that Trump is too flawed for God to use and therefore we won't vote for him because he's got too many flaws? Are we suddenly claiming we are better than God?

So well said!

Well, I’m sorry, but I don’t care enough about your positions to go back thru your posts to find them. I was merely asking a simple question.

Hey, so don’t vote. That’s your freedom as well. But don’t chime in the next 4 years on the political aspect of things and expect to be taken seriously.

His position was he presumes to know the will of God better than God. The amount of hubris is pretty impressive I’d have to say.

He’s the guy who drowns rather than take the help God sent expecting God himself to show up.

Apologies if you thought I was asking you to comb through my post history. I was just saying that I wasn't interested in engaging in a debate about my position.

I'm more interested this time around in discussing the theological underpinnings rather than the practical points that were brought up last time.

A couple of links to help undecided believers think through the issue:

Should Christians Vote for Trump? (Fortis Institute) 1H3M

Why Your Vote is No Sacrament - Doug Wilson 11M

I think Doug Wilson's view aligns with the OPs.

For us old pro-lifers, we've always had our line in the sand that we would not vote for a pro-choice candidate. I think Trump is a pragmatist. He's not a pro-lifer by conviction. That said, he did the most pro-life thing any president has done in my lifetime. I doubt he would appoint SCOTUS justices or lower court appointees who would be inclined to undo his previous accomplishment.

For me, a Christian trying to raise a Christian, traditional family in a time when most of our culture and institutions oppose such things, we concluded that Trump would put the least immediate obstacles in the way for us. I don't know that Trump "has our back" or anything of the sort, but he's the best option for a neutral playing field for the life we're undertaking.

I do think Trump sees Christianity as an obstacle he has to contend with for loyalty, and that's a problem for me. In the long term, whatever movement ultimately comes out of this era could be at odds with faithful Christians. But Trump isn't young, and I don't think he has the time/energy left to purge the "right" of people who'd elevate faith over loyalty to him, so I see it as largely an academic concern.

A vote for Kamala is a vote for social immorality, sexual deviancy and infanticide plain and simple. Their party platform flies in the face of Christian teachings.

Enjoy the eternal fires of hell if you vote democrat.

Good point. If Kamala had been Jesus' mom she would have aborted him in the 3rd trimester, started giggling and asked the 3 wise men if they had any booze.

They also most likely don't go to buildings that preach Genesis-Revelation, but rather selected text that doesn't offend certain people.

Samson

Shemeshson. Little Shemesh or derived from Shemesh, perhaps the son of Shemesh, the local Canaanite sun deity. Shemesh had the power of fire from his eyes and 7 golden locks of hair just like the Egyptian and Greek solar deities. The Philistines cut off his 7 locks from which his power derived (his corona) and blinded him (to remove his fire magic).

quote:

David

It is possible a historical David may have existed. Not the one who killed Goliath though, that feat was accomplished by ElHanan. In the fictional account, David had sons AbSalom and Solomon. These are theophoric names based on Shalim, a Canaanite sunset deity. It’s the root of the holy city Yerushalayim “foundation of Shalim”. AbSalom literally means “Shalim is my father” and Solomon is just Shalim with one extra letter at the end of the name similar to Samson being one extra letter added to Shemesh the sun deity. I think there could be a kernel of truth to there having been a real AbSalom and a Solomon though I think some scribe just attributed them to being David’s sons. I’m sure some later scribes of the second temple period after the Jewish monolatry started to develop wished they could erase those names of people based on the old Israelite pantheon.

quote:

Solomon

According to the Bible he was the wisest man ever to have lived or will ever live. He even met Yahweh face to face twice. Yet the Bible claims he worshipped the old Israelite (Canaanite) panetheon.

Why would “God” (assuming you mean Yahweh) endorse these people named after the other Canaanite deities which made him so jealous to the point of demanding Israelites exclusively worship him?

Quit thinking about the imperfect and flawed man who you believe to be too immoral and narcissistic to vote for. In reality you're not voting for Trump, you're voting against the Cultural Marxist debauchery and their insane Wokeism ideology.

You need to understand the only way to turn the tide against Cultural Marxism is through incrementalism. It took the left over 100 years to get to this place in US history and it will take decades of America First/MAGA influence to extinguish that which seeks to destroy the constitutional republic.

With a Trump victory in 2024 the right can begin the slow and arduous incremental process of pushing back against the Cultural Marxists and pave the way for the next America First/MAGA patriot to take the torch from Trump. I don't care if it's Vance, DeSantis, Ramaswamy, etc. the first goal is to thwart the D.C. Uniparty Globalists and Cultural Marxists from installing Kackles into the presidency

Well said. Now do Fiscal Realists.
