She just witnessed a 3rd attempt to assassinate her husband, I'm sure she's fed up and no longer going to remain silent. Plus, she was physically there at this attempt, so it's even more personal for her now than ever before.

In the past, most of her commentary and input has occurred behind the scenes. In the Melania doc on Amazon, she is taking part in the planning and timing for the inauguration, and when they get to the part about the parade there are several times where she questions them getting out of the limo and walking down Penn Ave. If I remember correctly she says pointedly that Barron will not be getting out of the limo, and says at least once it would be fine if none of them got out.
