Her logic is WAY off in assuming this camp is segregated. They aren’t taking a random sample of girls from east Texas, but it’s a self-selecting group of conservative southern Christians. This group is overwhelmingly white.
Even IF she was right, it doesn’t matter anyway. These are kids, and they deserve our sympathy without qualification.

No? And even if I did, legality is no way to measure MORALITY. Slavery, 3/5ths act, women and gays not having rights, internment camps, etc were all LEGAL once in this country, even with people at the CURRENT TIME objecting to its abhorrent nature. It’s a horrible tragedy. Maybe not preventable. Nature is cruel. But we can do things to ensure these events are less frequent. The current admin and party in power in Texas has no interest in that. Conservatism is funny because whenever it can be their fault, it never is. But if it’s a democrat, they’ll incessantly blame them.
