Why would Rand appoint a guy like that as the face of the family at the Institute?
IMO, Rand doesn't appear to have quite the same convictions as his father. But then again, nobody does that I know of.

This is where we point on the timeline to when Massie married a Rand Paul staffer
It all adds up. Liberals masking themselves by claiming to be Libertarian-leaning Republicans. Amash, Rand, Massie, Sununu, Mark Sanford, Rupert Murdoch, Koch brothers, Paul Singer, Jeff Flake, Gary Johnson, Andrew Napolitano, all pour out of the same bottle

Do you believe it now?
Nope.
It’s unfathomable, whether true or not.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Do you not know how language works?

Pretty damning list.

Truer words were never spoken. I would usually reply to a great post like yours with a bunch of questions of why things are like they are when the answers are pretty obvious. Reality sucks.

I will not defend the Libertarian party because it sucks. I just wish libertarians could get sane people to represent them and focus on whats actually important to libertarians - freedom and individualism. Am I asking too much?
The libertarian party sucks by definition because of who that message appeals to and what that ultimately leads to.
As I said earlier, its the socialism of the right: a good idea that will never work because man is too flawed to implement it without causing chaos and bad outcomes to everything it touches.

Do you mind explaining further? Genuinely interested to hear your thoughts

I get Globalists vs Putin to some degree & siding against the globalists but FFS, why side with Iran? Dude straight up confused. And Ron is clearly not all there if this is his kind of people.

I can count maybe five members of this board who are actual members of the Libertarian party.

The majority of libertarians on this board are "economic libertarians". Economic libertarianism is being tried right now in Argentina. Let us know if you believe this is not working in Argentina.

He has sided with Castro too.
Ron is not what you think he is. He was spending more money offices than renting space in NYC. He paid staff way more than anyone else. His annual budget was as high as Nancy Pelosi. He made the bacon flow to his district like no one else.
I well remember when I worked for the company handling Dow's idle assets We had two brand new dredges for sale because Ron got government to pay for dredging of Dow Freeport's INTERNAL canals.

In these later years Rand Paul has turned into a bitchy sour puss.

Right or wrong, it seems like having this guy run the Ron Paul institute casts everything Ron Paul ever did or tried to do in doubt.
It's right in line with Ron and Randy. This dude was Ron's Foreign policy adviser from 2001. English degree from Berkeley. Ron Paul has always been phony. The MONEY flowed from DC to his district and not for public use, but private company use. Ron was a huge spender and why union members in his district voted for him. Democrat activists in Houston could never figure out why they couldn't get in a traction with so many union members there.

Socialism in a theoretical sense and when applied within a family of healthy and well meaning people can be an ok system where if your brother needs something you share it with him for instance, but when you’re forced to loan your hammer to the guy across town you’re probably not getting it back or if you do it’s probably going to be beat up and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Libratarianism is similarly a fine ideal in a grand sense (preservation of rights, independent action, etc), but works very poorly when taken to application in a multicultural and post Christian society.
You give the freedom to act to 10 random people and 5 will act right, 4 will be wild cards and the last guy is gonna wear nipple tassels and a bikini to story hour at the elementary school.
You go full free trade in a world trade scenario in which other stakeholders are using slave labor, applying unilateral tariffs or playing with their currency to cut export costs and you’ll get your arse handed to you and your middle class ends up unemployed.
In a nation under siege by globalists, socialists, ANTIFA and muslim invaders I simply don’t have the time or focus to explain to the guy with the “I eat arse” shirt at the 5 year old birthday party why he’s in the wrong.
So in short while I sympathize generally with their view they’re just wrong for various reasons and results prove it even if portions of their platform would probably work to a degree but fail when taken beyond a certain point.

McAdams has been the executive director of the Ron Paul Institute for as far back as I can remember, which predates Trump's first term for sure.
Rand is not even a member of the board. Massie is.
