But he had a good reason for it. It would have eventually got out anyway because McCarthy would have suspended the rules. As I stated, many republicans voted in favor of it.

The final vote was more than 2/3rds of the house, however if McCarthy had suspended the rules he would have needed to rely on democrats more and that means...giving democrats more.

So instead of that, Massie voted in favor of allowing it out and we had a chance at a 1% spending cut. Not to mention it's not really even the rules committees job to block bills. They are voting on the rules, not the bill.

You just blame Massie because he went against Trump. He was actually a pretty fricking good congressman.

It was a 1% spending cut.

It was a penalty included in the bill in the event the 12 bills that are supposed to be passed did not.

Those bills did not pass, the 1% spending cut was supposed to be triggered.

And Mike Johnson killed it.
