Muslim kills muslim, no harm done. Move on.

There are many, many laws on the books right now that can and should be enforced to prevent gun crimes. If those aren’t good enough for you, you probably have an agenda beyond that.

Such as? Why aren’t they being enforced, in your opinion?

Let’s hear your “common sense” proposals.

Right, but that argument then inevitably gets reduced to “let’s do absolutely nothing.” There are many, many common sense measures well short of an outright ban that could be implemented.
I applaud you for even acknowledging the data that gun bans DO reduce gun violence
I think y’all fail to understand what guns mean to the millions upon millions of peaceful, productive US citizens who have them.
Has there been a gun ban in ANY country where there was such a sizable pre-existing “gun culture”?
And the reason we don’t acquiesce to “common sense measures” is that we absolutely know we can’t trust the left to stop there. The left really does want to take away all the guns from private citizens.

You saw examples of this in north California last week, where law enforcement had multiple opportunities to intervene and passed.
State to state the specifics are different, but in every instance of gun violence that I remember going back for years, multiple laws were broken before the gunfire started.

I thought this was going to be a thread about Islam. The gun control angle was a nice curveball.

How did this happen last weekend and it's just now news? 155 people isn't 5 people in a mall. That should be worldwide news

BTW how is it “nihilistically stupid” I think you wanted to use a big word there but it has zero connotation to my point which you completely failed to grasp

It’s the middle east. 155 people killed there is like a single car accident here.

Responds to a thread about a mass shooting in a state with more or less a complete gun ban with gun ban argument.

Your statement accomplishes the mission you accused Strannix of going on. You are a Gunt.

You are right. We also ought to outlaw drinking and driving to stop drunks from injuring and killing innocent people. Either that or we can just outlaw alcohol so people can’t get it. That would end drunken driving.
If history has shown us nothing else... it has shown us that outlawing stuff works great and is just about 100% effective if done with good intentions.

Muh gun control
I understand why you went for the low hanging fruit.
Muslims killing Muslims isn't as easy as Muslims killing Westerners and has a little more nuance to it.
We have an abundance of guns here in the US and we still had 30 or so people killed in a church by a lone gunman. This attack had multiple gunmen and 155 dead.
I'm not real sure how the gun control argument comes into play. Unarmed people will get slaughtered by those with guns regardless of their rights to access guns. Seems to me the argument should be that Americans begin carrying literally everywhere they go

Because it is like the rest of Life -
Saying something (laws) and doing something (enforcement) are two different things

It is just as easy to ask why were the existing laws broken? Simple answer...because the perps using the guns to MURDER people don't give a shite about gun laws. Strannix touched on this but yeah I can just see this thought process carried out in the perp(s)'s mind. "I'm going to shoot a place up and kill as many people as I can for Allah, except I can't do it now because that stupid assault rifle ban! Guess I will have to just be content doing nothing because the assault rifle I have and was planning on using is illegal!" If you think any new gun law is going to stop these mass murders, you really are Sleaux!

If the left wants guns banned so badly, why don’t they start asking all Democrats to surrender their weapons first? Lead by example.
That is a good point. Would love to see how that would go over.
