I think that it is a Constitutional requirement that a state hold an election but I don't think a primary is mandatory.
The parties can decide who their candidate is by other means.
No "vote" would be vacated.

There's not really much choice. You can't elect someone to lead an unconstitutional district.

Even if early voting had started, wouldn’t all of those people get to vote again on the new election date especially if their district has changed?

I can see the argument now -

After one debate, the Democrat party decided that Joe Biden wasn’t going to win the election so they summarily replaced him with a drunken f*cking retard who couldn’t compose one intelligible sentence.
