A new lawsuit is challenging Louisiana’s decision to suspend congressional primaries already underway — arguing the state is illegally nullifying votes and plunging an active election into chaos following the Supreme Court’s gutting of the VRA.

If there was ever a "no standing" ruling needed.

How can voting already be underway when early voting doesn’t begin until tomorrow?

I think that it is a Constitutional requirement that a state hold an election but I don't think a primary is mandatory.

The parties can decide who their candidate is by other means.

No "vote" would be vacated.

There's not really much choice. You can't elect someone to lead an unconstitutional district.

Exactly.

Plus... there's the slight complication of the fricking Western District specifically ordering the suspension of the election and the redrawing of the districts.

I don’t think his suit is going anywhere.

Dems have been stuffing ballots into storage for weeks, man.

This disrupts all of their plans.

Didn’t the 3 judge court order the state to come up with new districts?

In their heads, man. They already mentally voted. You can’t ask a Democrat to actually think about something a second time.

Even if early voting had started, wouldn’t all of those people get to vote again on the new election date especially if their district has changed?

More stupid lawfare.

I can see the argument now -

Judge: Mr. Elias. In 2026, the Democrat party held a primary throughout the country and nominated Joe Biden to be its candidate. After one debate, the Democrat party decided that Joe Biden wasn’t going to win the election so they summarily replaced him with a drunken f*cking retard who couldn’t compose one intelligible sentence. This retard received no votes to be the candidate She was just installed.

Yet, you didn’t sue to stop that from happening. Here, the primaries haven’t even occurred yet. There is plenty of time to conduct the primaries so that the people of Louisiana aren’t voting on the basis of maps at the Supreme Court has declared unconstitutional.

How can you reconcile this?

Elias: Well, your honors, we were hoping that we would get a totally politicized piece of pure f*cking filth judge like that scumbag Shelley Dick to be assigned to these cases so we wouldn’t have to actually defend them with logic or legal reasoning.
