Well at least I can say that I have been to NYC, 15 years ago, and can remember how it was.. This place will look like a madmax movie before his tenure is up.

He's also moving to freeze rent.

Higher property taxes and you cannot raise your rent.

Oh shite, he's using DHS to sweep up the homeless camps too.

Only his DHS is the Department of Homeless Services.

For those of us that believe the govt needs to cut spending, why is this prima facie a bad thing?

Why is it assumed that law enforcement is the one area of govt run without waste in the amount of employees?

The left is actively running down their cities. Most conservatives will leave and these places will become mini 3rd world countries. And they will be a thorn in our side that never goes away.

It's not prima facie a bad thing

I don't know anyone who assumes that. It's a strawman

I absolutely love this for the fricking retards that actively voted for this guy, or sat home because of the "frick them all" mentality.

Ok, well then why does almost everyone who has posted a response in this thread think this is a bad idea? If you replaced "NYPD officers" with "govt employees," you think this thread would be going the same way?

Didn't they already try defunding police in smaller cities with disastrous results?

I can't speak for the other posters, and didn't even read their posts.

As for me, however, like most Conservatives I think one of the primary functions of govt is to provide protection for its citizens. Mandami is cancelling 5000 new cops. That's a lot of police officers that somebody thought were needed..

In my calculus, tax dollars should go first to protection of the citizenry and to infrastructure. Everything else comes after that, as we can afford it.
