FoxNews article

Only 35 percent could identify poison ivy... only 17% could start a fire with a flint..

Probably 2% could only survive 1 day without their cell phone and internet...

2 Weeks? Pretty achievable with a lifestraw and access to fresh water. 2 months? Probably a 50% survival rate.

Is this the same Americans that striped the grocery store shelves of toilet paper instead of grabbing food and water at the start of Covid?

Or is it the same Americans that panicked and started hoarding gasoline in any container they could find, because the media said there was a shortage?

Either way, most wouldn’t last 2 days much less two weeks

That is laughable. Watching Bear Grylls doesn't give you special powers.

I think you could be projecting here. Two weeks is incredibly do-able for people with little to no survival training.

Most people should be able to survive a month or so as long as they've got access to water, but the more I've looked into it, the more I realize that trying to survive alone in the wilderness isn't a great idea. It's best to have a group.

If that is indicative of questions, the surveyors have little more clue than those surveyed.

I did 10 days in the Okefenokee with supplies and don’t care to do it again if I can help it.

You’re telling me if you pluck someone that has never left let’s say NYC and hates the wilderness, they would survive 14 days in the wilderness? I’m talking they can’t bring any food or water with them.

So how is someone that has no serious wilderness experience going to find enough clean water and food without getting sick? I guess maybe if they get lucky and it rains or they stumble across some injured animals.

Tell me how many are fine after 2 years, because that's what you're staring at if the pulse hits.

There was a poll here a few days ago that said 7% thought they could take on a grizzly bear.
