Any US citizen can be detained by police for questioning. "You match the deception of someone we were looking for." Detainment isn't the end of the world. You're "free to leave" once you provide ID and the matter is cleared up.

All kinds of people are detained all the time. Are you familiar with what Terry stops are? They were used against legal gun carriers in the ATL metro area all the time, including putting people on the ground at gunpoint that weren't breaking any laws.

Indefinitely detained? I don’t think so. I’d bet just long enough to determine their legal status. Of course if they weren’t hanging around with illegals (I.e. criminals) they wouldn’t have been caught up in the roundup in the first place.

fricking this. Too long to go into details but three times in my life I have been detained/stop by police, had guns drawn on me, was questioned, ID checked, name run through the system for warrants, and then let go when they realized I was not breaking any laws or wasn't who they thought. And I'm a "privileged" white guy. These pussies crying about being detained for a few seconds can frick off.
