They were teaching critical race theory in social studies classes in the late 2000’s when I was in hs. I had to teach lessons on critical race theory to 5th graders when I was a sub 2 years ago. CRT is all over our public schools.

I don’t want this shite anywhere near a classroom, but this is more nonsense from Landry that doesn’t touch on any of the major problems in this state.

Economy, insurance, crime, infrastructure are all more pressing problems

Winning for Louisiana.

Now he should mandate loss of tenure to any teacher who ignores or violates this. And termination for multiple violation.

Because you know they're just going to ignore this and do what they want anyway.

I can pretty much bet that Mr. Dier’s classroom at Ben Franklin does… probably the reason we fired him

When you don’t expect your elected officials to actually govern, they frequently meet expectations.

Another do-nothing from Landry. Yeah!

So, what's your beef with this? Is it just one of those "wasting time" things?

She will pretend that’s her complaint.

Her real complaint is that the teaching of CRT will be hampered.

Your child has never noticed that someone of a different race looks differently than them?

My children live in a diverse city. They have been around black people daily since they were born. Seeing a black person is about as noteworthy as seeing a house or tree. My husband and I have never told them that people with brown or black skin are called "black."

quote:

My daughter is 3 years old, we had a plumber here the other day to work on our water heater, he was a black man (very dark skin with an African accent), and she asked me "daddy, why does that man have a black face?"

She must not be used to seeing people with black faces so she was curious. That's totally normal. My kids went to daycare with kids of multiple races and are now in school with kids of multiple races. They have had both black and white teachers since they were in daycare. We have black neighbors. Seeing a black person isn't interesting or exciting to them, it's just normal.

Does my son notice that he has brown eyes and brown hair while his sister has blue eyes and blonde hair? Sure. Does he think that's significant? No. Does he think that she is labeled by society as a "blonde person"? No.

Wait... you have had to teach CRT in grade school in Louisiana? 4cubbies assured us this absolutely wasn't happening!

Well, if it was posted on the internet, we have to accept that it's 100% true.

If anyone wants to see the curriculum that public schools use for Social Studies. here it is.

And we're to believe the state was using curriculum that taught CRT in the year 2000, but hasn't used it since?

Since you don't think race is real & you're all for limited government, do you think we should repeal the Civil Rights Act?

Your kids must be pretty dumb.

My kids, when young, asked simple, innocent questions like “Why are some families brown?”

Having to pretend it doesn’t exist is one of the biggest signs you have an issue with race.

So your kids are being raised in an environment exactly like 99% of southerners

DUDE! Perfect 10 on copy and paste of leftist talking points. Are you also going to post one of how he's afraid of history for bonus points?

Critical race theory (CRT) is an advanced academic concept that holds that race is socially constructed, and it examines how legal structures are used to oppress people of color.

Asians really destroy this whole theory. Asians on average make $1.07 to the dollar of white people. Many of them immigrate her with English being their second or third language and they still thrive.
