The jobs numbers have outpaced expectations for four straight months, after abysmal performance under Biden. Perhaps not earthshattering numbers when viewed against historical averages, but considering recent years and coupled to the context of the Trump tariff's in question, its quite good.

So 4STD's theoretical job losses at a coffee company are not going to be a argument that holds water in this context. Its just more tariff fear mongering.

Let's assume that the wholesale price of coffee beans is going up 20%. Those folks that routinely pay 7-10 bucks a cup of coffee might need to make their coffee at home. Or stop being a coffee snob.

Yup, you got it. Coffee’s it for the state and city now.

What a dumbshit post. You’re really on a tear today even by your own low standards.

Grocery store coffee prices are also going to increase.

Love Jamaican coffee.
I think some Mexican coffee hasn't been effected yet?

Ok. Let's take Folgers Classic Roast at walmart. It's a little over $19 bucks today. It will increase to $23 bucks for 43.5 ounces. At Sam's you can get the same thing for $17.48 today and $21 with the tariff. Gas prices are down like 30 cents a gallon in my area since innauguration. I buy WAY more gas than I do coffee grounds. I'm still better off with the tariffs. Winning, Still not tired of winning.

A 20% tariff on coffee from Vietnam could still be cheaper than a 10% tariff on coffee from Brazil (for example.)

And not all foreign exporters will offset tariffs costs with increased pricing.

I'm just saying one variable doesn't tell us anything.

But the amount of coffee that won't be subject to some type of import duty is extremely small, as the US doesn’t have the capability to produce coffee.

The point of tariffs is to build up/ protect domestic industry. But we don't have the capability to produce everything. Hence why the administration should be more specific on what imports receive duties rather than applying blanket tariffs.

Exactly. This is naval gazing at its finest.

Inflation, despite the doomsday wish casting of democrats has either met or fallen below expected growth throughout the trade wars. The 5 year look-ahead forecasts are also flat as a pancake.

You can bitch about coffee if you are willing to ignore pretty much everything else.

That could be true if there are countries which get no tariffs. As it stands, I think all the major coffee producing countries have the 10 percent import tax.

At this point it seems like we are imposing tariffs for tariffs sake.

How much as government borrowing been reduced? Why does Trump want lower fed rates (literally more koney printing).

No. If that were the case we’d tariff everything at 100000%. and have infinite GDP.
