Beryl Amedee would be the only female repub that I could see the GOP putting in there....
other than that Kennedy and Scalise would be the only other 2 candidates that have a chance

Pretty much
Grand scheme of things does it even matter?
I could be a Biden supporter and if I had an ounce of honesty in my body I’d have to admit these people stole the election by fricking cheating.

Yeah, he can't serve more than 2 consecutive terms. I don't know who the Dems will put up next. Probably someone already in the state legislature. I suspect we'll have a Republican governor next if any of the more well known candidates run.

If the LAGOP gets behind Landry he can and will win....he has built up some capital with the way he has fought back against JBE's dumbass COVID sanctions.
If they don't get behind him and do their normal thing where they let 3-4 guys fight it out then he will lose....anyone would. I'm not sure why everyone thinks Kennedy would win....if the LAGOP did to him what they did to Vitter, which based on history is likely, then he would lose too.

Louisiana Republicans offers the Shittiest Candidates Against the Democrats. Agree or Disagree?
That's what you should have asked... On the Political Board and not the OT.

The right Republican candidate would be favored in Louisiana over most Democrats. It's a darker red state than Texas is now from purely a partisan standpoint.
A lot of Louisiana republicans are just blue dog Democrats on policy though.
Yeah, I don't think party politics plays as big of a factor in state politics as it does in federal.
I mean, I know it matters, but not just as much.. to the voters I mean.
There are those who vote party no matter what, those bases are already established, candidates have to work the middle of the road voters and the Republicans just haven't had anyone that has been able to excite people.
Like Eddie Rispone. I knew he was going to lose the first time I saw his commercial. First impressions matter. While I think his team was going for just getting his name out there by running those commercials a lot and early, it was more annoying than anything. He turned off a lot of people early on.
They just need to find someone middle of the road and charismatic.

3 of the last 6 actual people elected were (on paper at least) republicans.
My opinion, after what JBE has done in the last few years is that I don't think the Dems can find a candidate impressive enough to keep the Republicans out of that spot in the next election. I don't think JBE can dig himself out of the hole he's in now.
Just my opinion....I don't know much about politics other than what I hear.

I mean, Shelby Stanga could be elected Governor. I mean, I'm a Texan but I sincerely feel badly reading so much BS out of Baton Rouge. It's daily.

They would have last time if S. Louisiana hadn't been congenitally incapable of voting for someone from north if I-10.

So if cheating was possible Republicans wouldn't do it right? Just the democrats?
Trump said he was cheated so it must be true right? He also said in 2016, when the polls showed him down, "the election is rigged folks.. Its rigged".
That's what he does. He throws it out there just in case he loses then comes back and says "see I told you" because he knows all the idiots will believe him.

No there are no Republicans in Louisiana, only rinos and Democrats.
Posted on 1/21/21 at 10:52 am to Sao
Completely disagree
In 2015 the D/R split was +520(Democrat). On 11/1/19 (the last total before the Gov runoff) that total had shrunk to +333(Democrat). Today, that number is +224(Democrat). Louisiana has over a million registered Republicans maybe for the first time in its history.
In 2015 JBE beat Vitter by approx. 141,000 votes. That was on the heels of a bitterly contentious R primary where the two loser essentially endorsed JBE in the runoff.
In 2019 JBE defeated a politically unknown Rispone by 40,000 votes.
All of this was BEFORE 2020. Currently both houses of the LA Legislature are firmly controlled by Republicans and have been since 2011. The Senate currently has a Republican super-majority. The House is 2 spots short of a Republican supermajority.
The GOP running Vitter in 2015 paved the way for JBE. Vitter was, at best, a polarizing candidate. At worst, many conservative voters flat out disliked him along with those who he beat in the primary who turned their back on the GOP for the run-off. JBE has positioned himself as a "moderate" Democrat. That was before that veneered was exposed in 2020. But, in 2019 it was still enough to win a state election where person can override party (unlike on the national level).
The question is who do the Democrats choose to run in 2023? Is their anyone on the Democrat bench who can feign being a "moderate"?

Trump won LA. Dominion only cares about Gubernatorial apparently
We barely use dominion, but I laugh because democrats have been questioning our outdated systems for years because of.....FRAUD. But ive kind of figure it out now, they need the new machines that connect to the internet so they can fricking hack them.

LA dem arrested on election fraud - Advocate
quote:
The Tangipahoa Parish Registrar of Voters contacted the Secretary of State's office in October after noticing some voter registration forms had been submitted with fraudulent addresses, Landry said. Investigators found two addresses for separate vacant lots in District 3 that had six people registered to vote at the first address and 16 people registered at the second, Attorney General Jeff Landry said.
