The right Republican candidate would be favored in Louisiana over most Democrats. It's a darker red state than Texas is now from purely a partisan standpoint.
A lot of Louisiana republicans are just blue dog Democrats on policy though.

A state that goes 58-38 for the Republican in every presidential election can’t elect a Republican Governor. Yeah sure

I agree you can't spell "parish".

Rationally I agree. But you won't vote in down ballot?

It can be done. JBE was a strong incumbent candidate (didn’t directly piss off too many interests with large numbers of voters during first term) facing off against a wealthy opponent with almost zero name-recognition using out-of-state campaign staff running a generic issue-less campaign.
Rispone still got a lot of votes, but not the W despite these things. A better republican candidate who is well-know running a more issues-focused campaign that understands Louisiana’s unique electorate could definitely win in 2023 when there will be no incumbent in the race.

Yes. Although Caddo is now an ETx county.

Disagree. They need to vet better candidates though. The GOP leadership in this state is laughable. Until there's a stringpuller/network that can 1. pick candidates who don't go to brothels or 2. keep equally qualified candidates from just negating each others leads, then there's probably no point.
Also, Nungesser or Jeff Landry are shitty candidates as well. Both will probably lose to a carefully groomed democrat.

They can if they stop running shitty candidates like David Vitter or Eddie Rispone.
I'm holding out hope that John Kennedy gets sick of DC and runs for Governor.

Jeff Landry will be our next governor

Agree, anyone with a brain has moved to a different state.

So, let's reset.
LA is an electoral college Red State, no question. The Governor is a shoe in Democrat. Is that what you're supposed to believe?
