I wonder if this guy is connected to Steele in any way.

Halper is a close associate of Sir Richard Dearlove — the former MI6 chief.

Months earlier, in early fall 2016, Dearlove reportedly met with dossier author Steele. Steele sought out Dearlove’s advice on how to proceed with information he gathered on Trump’s ties to Russia, The Washington Post reported. Former MI6 Moscow station chief Steele had been told Trump campaign members were colluding with Kremlin operatives to release emails stolen from the DNC.

Papa worked in the Ben Carson campaign after being rebuffed by the Trump campaign. it looks like Bannon brought Papa in.

Emails: George Papadopoulos communicated with Bannon, Flynn, others - Business Insider

What if Steve freaking Bannon was a GOPe/dem deep State plant?

I think Halper was just a facilitator. A lot of moving pieces and major coincidences to get Pap in a bar talking to Australian agents. Paps comments at that meeting, which were then funneled back to the US through diplomatic channels, are what got the foot in the FISA door.

If you were going to hatch a conspiracy like this, the actionable info can't come from within your own government at the start. The catalyst has to come from the outside to give it more credibility and disway suspicion or unwanted attention.

you mean a foreign intelligence service might be interested in a Trump campaign that is under investigation and might take steps to see what is to be found....

im shocked.

People forget Joseph Misfud the supposed "Russian" agent (who works in Britain). He is the one who told Papa about Hillary's e-mails. Misfud used to teach at Link University in Rome. What is Link? A spy academy (CIA has held conferences there in the past).

You can't make this up. Whole thing was a setup.

Swamp Bob can't possibly be that much of an amateur. I guess he could be that desperate.

Well, according to media sources, it's true

Pap needs to sue the DOJ/FBI PDQ. They entrapped that poor sucker, in order to build this whole case on Trump. And they know they are screwed, because they are now selectively leaking their side of the story to the press

So you've got a plea on Flynn that mysteriously Mueller wont allow to go to sentencing (after the judge was forcibly recused, btw)

A plea by Pap after clearly being set up by Halper (who also tried to set up 2 other Trumpers), which would ,mean this is now a Giglio violation because that info was not shared by SC as he is required to do

And the Russians showing u in court unexpectedly, and informing the judge that one of the companies being charged wasn't even in existence at the time

And a plea by Gates against Manafort, even though the judge looks willing to toss the Manafort case, due to shenanigans

That would leave Mueller with a big Zero for 2 years worth of work

This, the left has been tripping all over itself to rail against foreign intervention....... What about GBs intervention?

Don't trust those hacks any more than anyone else.

Interesting tidbits from a NY Post article—
Here comes the “the GOP does this too”position:

LINK

The Department of Defense’s Office of Net Assessment — a shadowy think tank that reports directly to the secretary of defense — paid Halper $282,000 in 2016 and $129,000 in 2017.

Halper has close personal and professional ties to the CIA reaching back decades. He is the son-in-law of a former deputy director of the agency and worked on the 1980 presidential campaign of George H.W. Bush, who had served as CIA director.

When Bush became Ronald Reagan’s running mate, Halper was implicated in a spying scandal in which CIA officials gave inside information on the Carter administration to the GOP campaign.

If you know it reports to sec defense, what makes it shadowy?

Be specific.
