My response is "Well it should be" without any problems.

Read what I posted about the internet and Estonia.

OK. I'm sorry the current law of the land, which is that the internet is NOT a utility, gives you a sad.

Again, another fine question. Which anti-trust laws are being violated?

Ever heard of the Sherman Act?

Of 1890? Yes.

Who is in violation of that Act presently?

When was the “current stakeholders” considered a monopoly by the US Congress?
I'd respect you more if you knew the difference between first person singular and second/third person plural.

The single most common thread that I've seen is that most people against Net Neutrality (individuals) have so little understanding of how the internet actually works that it might as well be magic, and your information is carried from one place to another via fairy farts.

Net Neutrality is a good thing. Just because your marching orders tell you it isn't doesn't make that accurate.

Because one of the main arguments in favor of repealing NN was to "reduce regulation" and empower the free market.
Just because a market isn't perfectly free doesn't mean market effects do not exist.

If the telecom industry is not a a part of the free market, how will relieving NN change the monopoly of the current stakeholders?

I can tell you what I think on this. But honestly, have YOU tried to ask yourself that question?

Or is it your belief that Comcast is going to bend over Netflix, Amazon, Google et al, and nothing will happen?

quote:

Ironically that's exactly what "small govt conservatives" do when they talk about MJ legalisation
I support legal MJ

And FISA courts are fricking secret. We have some pretty good history on what nations do with secret shite. But let's not derail.

Have any of you illiterate plant workers tried to get a real job without the internet in the last 5 years?

Unless we are talking bare bones minimum wage or some super cushy deal your dad sets up with a handshake, you need the internet. Period. Paper resumes are just not a think for most jobs any more.

Also, haven't done a paper application for an apartment or townhouse in a few years either. You need the internet to access the basics these days.

It’s not. But it is essential to rent an apartment. Internet is NOT!

It's essential for our business. Why do you hate small businesses?

I would argue that the current cabal of cable companies collude with each other enough to represent an impediment to the free market (oligopoly). Theres a reason the number of internet providers has remained static since its foundation.

And this is just lazy bull shite.

Let's not pretend shite tons of money didn't flow the politicians on the other side too. But, it would be lazy of me to simply say you are "following your marching orders"
