Trump took the off ramp because he doesn’t want an electoral wipe out in the midterms.

This off ramp won’t save him or the GOP. In fact it makes everything worse in that regard

Even it proves to be not good, at least none of troops were captured for propaganda and we didn’t give $8B.

This is incredible to me. “We agree to worse terms than the JCPOA but I’ll give the President credit for wasting money and assets on a conflict that existed only because he terminated the JCPOA”

While I don’t disagree, we should support the administration taking a deal now over doubling down on bad policy and a bad war. That’s how you get stuck in a quagmire.

Let’s just hope we can set ourselves on a course to develop Iran into an ally and move them away from China.

This may be the most naive post I’ve ever seen on this board.

fricking this. I’m not pro, or anti Israel as a matter of course.

I’m the same way. I just don’t care about Israel anymore. If they really believe they are Gods chosen people and it’s biblical prophecy that they are to remain in that region why do they even need us? If they really believed what they say then they shouldn’t need anyone. That’s what makes all this so laughable. They think they have the ultimate protection so why do the need help from the United States Treasury and military? Make it make sense.

Correct. That’s why the obvious course of action was not to do this dumb shite to begin with. There was never any support or desire to actually do the thing—but somehow we came to the conclusion that half measures and total capitulation would equal strength.

I think from the get go was the hope the Iranian people would rise up but that didn’t happen.

It only encourages Iran to engage in this behavior in the future.

Slight disagreement in fantasy negotiations?
Iran can now close the Strait by just telling Lloyd’s that they’ll throw mines across it.

The United States gained NOTHING in this whole ordeal. Disagree? List the benefits but don’t include replaceable people or buildings, or naval vessels that no one was ever worried about.

It’s almost like common sense said that was never going to happen. I’m sorry you were duped by such a blatantly stupid plan.
