Bingo. We didn't have the cards. We were gaslit for three months about how this was going. Credit to DJT for cutting his losses.

Why do you think shipping through the Strait has required such high insurance liability rates for DECADES? Because Iran was nice and didn’t threat or mine the Strait? Yeah that’s a true free flow of commerce. Iran was/is notorious for for refusing vessel passage too. You’re delusional

Yikes.

In January, ships could transit the strait completely free of any fee or threat.

They now cannot. We did that. I’m sorry you’re old and that you care about how Irans government treats its people. I don’t.

What did the US gain in this “deal”?

An Iranian military set back 20 years.

China and Russia on their back foot knowing militarily they cannot stop the USA considering they have the same anti aircraft systems and defenses as Iran.

No nuclear weapons or access to enriched uranium.

A Strait with no tolls or harassment.

A world destabilizer in Iran that now knows it can be crushed at the will of the USA.

People act like Iran didn’t just get annihilated on the military, destabilization front.

It’s dishonest.

Shouldn't ever negotiate with terrorists. Should have been total surrender.

Completely free of any threat?
Iran has been disrupting tankers and other ships in the Strait since the 80's.
Iran was making moves to start controlling it, anyway.
Why do you think they signed a deal to buy supersonic anti ship missiles from China?

Yes. Traffic was completely open with zero conditions imposed by any party prior to our stupid whack-a-mole operation.

No—they have not.

Other countries’ dealings are not my concern.

So there was no Tanker War?
No history of Iran seizing ships?

So, what are your concerns?
Obviously not Quds forces hunting Americans for sport in Afg.
Not dead Navy Seals.
Nor the three American soldiers killed in Jordan.
And prolly not the 46 Americns killed on Oct 7.

That we accomplished nothing strategically and instead handed a geopolitical rival an easy win because they control the Strait of Hormuz.

But, didn't they pretty much already control it?

Did you not see my link?

And what do you think the anti ship missile deal was for?

I do agree we didn't accomplish as much as I would have hoped.
We should have kept the hammer down for a couple more weeks, at least.
I haven't seen the deal, so I'll reserve judgement until i do.

Pretend all you want. You know that it was stupid, you’re just struggling to acknowledge.

It was stupid bc it showed you were wrong?
It's ok to admit you're wrong. Digging your heels in about it seems odd in the light of historical facts, tho.

So you dont care about dead Americans, we've established that much.

How about this?

do you understand what the petro dollar is, and why it's so important?
Do you understand that Iran would have held the Strait hostage with those missiles unless countries agreed to sell that oil in another currency?
Like maybe the yuan?

I truly cannot comprehend how difficult it must be to be this wrong. My proof is that if any of the fricking nonsense you spewed were true, someone would have noticed.

What nonsense?
Youve shown that you reject basic historical facts and don't care about dead Americans, so I don't see why I'm still bothering with you.

You shoud have some basic understanding that China has invested very heavily in Iran.
Do you think that's just because the CCCP are nice guys?

They started charging tolls in April, accepting yuan and you'd have to be extremely obtuse to think that idea just popped into their heads due to this conflict.

Yeah Trump looks pretty weak here. He will do anything to keep markets up by dancing a new dance every day. Long term there’s no avoiding boots on the ground and a market collapse.

I done did.
And you see it was stupid.

I'll play before i go to sleep, but don't think havent noticed your pivot away from you not caring about dead Americans.

-Tanker War during the Iran Iraq War
-Early 2012, threatened to close strait and disrupted oil prices.
-Mine attacks in 2019
-droned Israeli Tanker in 2021
-took 2 Greek tankers in 2022
-Portuguese ship in 2024
