I thought these things were supposed to last 20 years? So much for energy efficiency. Thanks Obama for forcing LED lights down our throats while the Chinese burn tons of coal all in the sake of climate change

I love our beautiful orange president for giving us the freedom to choose our lightbulbs again

Yeah, they don't perform as advertised by a long shot. That's what happens when governments mandate using a particular technology and the market delivers crap. All of those ratings are in labratory conditions with regulated (almost entirely DC) power supplies. Production LED lights are loaded on a cicuit board full of power conditioning stuff to keep them from flickering and that stuff frequently fails long before the LED itself dies.

Weird melt. The Chinese probably made that cheap arse bulb you bought too.

Put your Susan wig on, walk on over to HomeDepot and demand a replacement bulb.

I prefer the LED bulbs but they're pretty expensive

I have some recessed lights in the ceiling that are a pain to change and they seemed to go out all the time. Switched them all to LEDs earlier this year and haven't had to change one yet.

I've had a couple of LEDs go out within 3 years.

Oh they will, and long before the cost is recuperated compared to a conventional lightbulb.

I only have a few LED's, outdoor floodlights, shop, and garage lights. Everything inside are severe service incandescents which last much longer than regular ones.

Those damn squirrelly fluorescent lights are crap as well. I've had better luck with LEDs.

All lightbulbs regardless of type are made in China or other foreign country. Same with solar panels. The US invents and perfects stuff like this and then sends it out of the country for mfg. The same will happen to any new Green technology regardless of how many lies the leftists spout off about the number of jobs it will create in this country.

I was an early adapter to LED's (one of the few times) and I had a bunch go out pretty early.

The ones I have bought in the last two years are going strong.

The LED's are probably still good but the driver (think ballast) for them is where the weak point is.

I’m not melting. I’m happy with my current selection of light bulbs thanks to our president.

CFL's are awesome and I've had really good luck with LED's.

We always had bulbs blowing in our chandelier at church and so we switched everything over to LED. Three years have gone by without having to change a bulb.

I think you just got a bad one.

I like the LEDs we have... took a few tries to figure out which color to get... but I like them. They don't heat up.
