Well to be fair I meant To type Marigny and autocorrect took the wheel.

So I can’t really complain about being misunderstood

This is on Errol. But to make matters worse, Latoya put a 3 mills tax increase before the council last week. Impeccable timing.

Won't happen in my lifetime, but this is probably the only way that New Orleans will drastically shift its economic demographics.

Right now, it has an enormous concentration of poverty. Demand is high to live closer to the city. Therefore these people will have to move farther away from the city center. It is just basic supply/demand. Sorry.

There are still so many cheap shitty places in city limits.

The East is basically the wilderness.

That chick who said she was going to get rid of speed/red light cameras but kept the majority, reduced the speed threshold without telling the public, and still has those stupid roving speed vans everywhere.

Property taxes are theft. Plain and simple.

-I paid taxes on my income.
-I paid taxes when I bought the materials with that already taxed income.
-The labor I used to assemble said taxed materials paid taxes, which cost me more because of those taxes, and increased the “cost” of my assembling those taxed materials, thereby increasing the “assessed value” of my home.

Then, just because it’s fricking sitting here, not doing a damned thing, I have to pay taxes again!!! frick. frick. frick. frick. frick.

ETA- It’s like the fricking mafia shaking me down for their annual cut. I’d rather pay the mafia than my city/parish though; at least the mafia might give me a case of Italian wine for my daughter’s wedding and would probably do a better job at keeping the rift raft off my streets.

The reassessment is mandated by the State Constitution, not Latoya.

I know about mandated reassessments, and I’m not blaming the mayor for it.

Maybe you missed the 150% increase in assessed value given as an example in the article, which reeks of political manipulation, and I do blame her for that.
