See this is exactly the point. This, again, is why Russia’s apparent progress in Kostyantynivka is very significant. If that city falls to Russia it will be essentially a breach of the fortress. It certainly looks like it is in the process of falling.

Before the war the population was 70k and now it's less than 10k. Does anybody think that, say, Kalamazoo, MI or Gainesville, GA is a 'Big city'?

So why would we focus on on a city that nobody has heard of, cares about, and is only going to continue to be a meaningless dot on this stupid and failing war for global supremacy?
I wouldn't call them big cities, but both of the US examples you gave are cities people who have never been to either state might know, so it would be notable if nothing else if we were being invaded by Mexico and they took these cities.
City size does not necessarily mean anything definitive in terms of importance at the front. A large city can be hard to take because it provides a lot of concealment, cover, and opportunities to dig in for a defender but otherwise not provide a ton of strategic value, while a smaller city or even town might provide you a strategic advantage that allows gains in other areas. Spouting "the pre war population is only blah blah blah" over and over ignores a ton of context.
If the US were to be invaded, losing somewhere like Jacksonville or Mobile would be a bigger deal than losing some pretty large cities that are more inland and don't provide you with much strategic value other than being large areas outside of the propaganda win you get from capturing them.

Zaporizhzhia is much more important than Kostyantynivka.
Supposedly Russia is advancing in range to start their "human safaris" there, but they are not a direct threat to the city yet.

This is batshit crzy
Yes, that statement is a red flag and should never have been issued. They get an 'F' in PR 101.
But while we wait for an announcement on what this vessel was actually carrying (and I doubt we will ever get that), let's think about what's really happened and read between the lines.
This vessel, the "Bella 1 / Marinera", was loaded in Iran. Loaded. It's a tanker but was not loaded with any liquid petroleum as it is clearly in ballast. But intelligence sources in Iran and from satillite data would have given Washington a strong idea of what actually was loaded.
The destination was Venezuela, but it never declared this and never got within 900 miles of Venezuela before reversing course and heading east. So it technically did not violate the blockade.
Now, if you know anything about tanker construction, there is very little designed area for non-liquid cargo. Basically paint locker, galley stores and engine room spares. No room nor access points for anything bigger than a refrigerator. So certainly no room for serious weaponry that could threaten the US Navy.
Unless.... Of course, there it is. What is small enough to fit through access hatches and serious enough to drive both navies batshit crazy to get possession of this ship asap?
And which logistically gives Putin and the Russians complete plausible deniability...

I have been saying that in this thread (and its predecessor) for a while, and in some Poli Board threads where people question the logic of certain things that happen... it used to that people replied with "TDS libtard bullshite" or whatever... now, they don't respond... or they start defending the concept of "spheres of influence" and "multipolarism"...
It's utterly amazing. The idea that a bunch of commies and fascists can't be trusted to run anything, much less be reliable dealmakers, pisses off people who call themselves 'conservative.'
The issue, of course, becomes worse now that these people are in power. They're actually looking at them as potential partners, not actual power-hungry incompetents who are repeating the same mistakes from a century ago and are watching their little 'empires' collapse from arrogance, stupidity, and an utter refusal to listen to subject-matter experts who could have told them on their rise to power what the underlying issues are and what they would lead to.
Morons.
EDIT:
This is the symbol of the 'National Bolshevik Party,' the political party founded by Aleksandr Dugin, referred to as 'Putin's Brain,' in the early 1990's:
Which two loser parties does this flag remind you of? Anybody want to party with those pussies?

Trends.
No way Russia would have even made the progress they've made there in a month last year.
You keep seeing stories about Ukranian soldiers who have spent a year or even 18 months at the front.
You've got Z firing and reassigning personnel.
Supposedly there have been no documented Patriot launches since late October. Did Ukraine already run out? (Debunk this if you can, I'm genuinely curious to know what's going on here. Saw it on X but it can be hard to tell legitimate info vs fake news).
Now Russia's economy is showing downward trends itself, too.

Lawyers and fifth grade teachers carry a different persona even though both are professionals. I was going by persona.
As for respectability, yes fifth grade teachers are more respectable. You are corrrct there, but they make less money.

The bill could slap up to 500% tariffs on imports from countries like China, India, and Brazil that buy Russian oil, gas, and uranium.

Not the World, just the former Russian and Soviet Empire (for starters... that will make them stronger and they can then advance Westward...)
That's the Russian calculation

You'd think that, but clearly Putin is working to make Trump his puppet (and has had marginal success).
If he is able to unduly influence US elections and policy, then it's Putin that's in the top seat in the world, I'm sorry to say.

All the paper tiger talk, the ineptitude, incompetence and inability to fight and defeat a neighbor with which they share a border, and they will advance westward when?
I mean come on...let's step back into reality for a bit here.

It's even worse than that.
By seizing Russian tankers, the US has now set a precedent that the rest of the world is in a position to follow. You could very well have countries seizing shadow fleet tankers at will and the US won't say anything, and since the Russian Navy is UTTER shite they aren't in a position to stop it.
So if for whatever reason the shadow fleet goes by, say, Vietnam or even Haiti and those countries decide to just takeover the ship, if they are able to get control of it the Russians aren't in a position to do anything. Hell, you could see Somali pirates taking over Russian ships and I'm not sure they are in a position to do a damn thing:

Seeing this "worker" image, reminds me of the Soviet quip from actual workers, "They pretend to pay us and we pretend to work."
