Russian morale and their prediction for the war over next year.

TLDR: "One thing is true: summer is our last attempt. Further, the raging crisis in the economy of the Russian Federation will put an end to the country’s ability to wage war."

quote:

Popular Russian military correspondent Maxim Kalashnikov predicts that this summer offensive will be Russia’s last before its economy collapses along with its ability to wage war:

“This text appeared on the private channel “Scout”:

“The General Staff gave Putin a plan for an offensive in the second half of the summer, sources said. For the operation, they proposed to release the military from guarding the borders to be replaced with North Korean soldiers who are being trained for that.

The head of the General Staff personally reported to the president about the readiness for a large-scale phase of the operation in the coming months with the advances beyond the new regions.

In the main scenario, which the insiders got acquainted with, it is planned to break deep into the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions to create a buffer zone by the end of summer. The document also contains plans to advance to Odesa.

The General Staff offers the president to expand the buffer zone as much as possible before the onset of autumn rains, when the roads will make it difficult to use the equipment and force the parties to move to positional warfare.

According to the source, Russia should have enough resources for such an operation.” I think the above is almost a fantasy. Even if 30,000 North Koreans replace our border guards, a big offensive (with the crossing of the Dnieper!) won’t work. 1. The issue of paralysing the rear of the AFU by an air operation has not been resolved. The management and logistics of the AFU haven't been destroyed. 2. Therefore, the issue with the mass use of the drone army by the enemy, which creates a “death zone” 50 km deep from the line of contact, has not been resolved.

That is, the enemy will inflict monstrous losses on our equipment and infantry, turning our attempts to attack into a kind of Passchendaele or “Nivelle offensive slaughter” in WWI, holding the line itself with quite stretched forces.

Our quantitative superiority (but not qualitative and not in terms of organizing the drone army) does not solve the problem. We have not put our air force in order and therefore we do not provide protection for local combat zones.

Therefore, what advance on Odesa is even possible? Only the slow squeezing of the AFU at an extremely expensive cost to us.

Otherwise, the System, permeated with nepotism and simony, corruption and stagnation, the System does not know how to conduct combat actions.

One thing is true: summer is our last attempt. Further, the raging crisis in the economy of the Russian Federation will put an end to the country’s ability to wage war.

Both Ukraine and the Russian Federation are getting tired.

No “cosmetic fixes” can correct the tangle of frank missed opportunities and complete neglect of the modern warfare experiences we have gained since both 2014 and 2022.

It’s too late to take medicine when your kidneys have already failed. That’s why we’ll have to do what Trump wants...”

So ukraine sent a drone hundreds of miles from the front to blow up a building, meanwhile in ukraine..........

quote:

June saw a new monthly high of 5,429 drones, July has seen more than 2,000 in just the first nine days.

The battlefront is in ukraine, not a 1000 miles away.

Trump is running the show.

He gave Putin a chance to negotiate, and Putin disrespected Trump’s efforts making him look bad.

Trump said pre election that he’d help Ukraine if it came to that, well ladies and gentlemen I believe it has come to that.

Patriots are not used against drones, just missiles.

Imagine acting like Neocons don't still exist and very much have a significant amount of power in Washington.

Putin made the decision to go to war. This is Putin’s war, no one else is to blame.

I agree with some of the principles that neo cons profess and so do a lot if others.

I believe in peace through strength.
I believe in capitalism.

But I don’t believe in intervention, or trying to make everyone like us by getting involved in wars.

There aren't any significant movements in the US on the right that don't believe in capitalism. You don't have to go to Neocons to get that. In fact, Most of the left with any actual power currently still believes in it.

Thats just a slogan to the neocons. They got us into Iraq. That didn't result in a more peaceful world. In fact, quite the opposite.

What got us into Iraq was the take over of Kuwait and the threat to Saudi Arabia and their oil wells.

The free flow of oil was threatened, and since we imported about half of our oil and much of that from SA, we had to act for national security reasons.

Too good to be true...?

Apparently, Putin has really pissed off Trump by making him look weak and upping his attacks on Ukraine every time they have a conversation where Trump asks him to come to the table. The great "friendship" has soured.

Trump preferred that Putin have the upper hand as they negotiated a "deal," anybody could tell that... but that seems to have changed.

And you think that is because of the Neocons?

Several factors are at play there.

The stakes of war were raised greatly, making people more opposed to it as a solution in general.

Globalization and global trade. If goods don't move across borders, armies will.

Many of the major players in the world who would be capable of starting any kind of large conflict were extremely hamstrung in the years following WW2.

We have more stable global oversight and alliance structures than we have ever had before.

The neocons did all that I guess? I didn't realize we had so many Lindsey Graham and Dick Cheney fans in here. Would explain a lot.

You do know there was a second Iraq war................. right? The one that was essentially the start (and cause) of the GWOT........
