Both vessels are frequent callers at Russian ports. SVS JUSTICE has operated extensively through Novorossiysk, while STAR II regularly calls at both Novorossiysk and Tuapse.

There is going to have to be a response from NATO on these attacks on Romania. The Russian escalation flowchart is being followed exactly. If NATO doesn't stop it now with overwhelming force, they will have a permanent war front opened in Romania.

In any other world, this bank would have declared bankruptcy long ago. But in Russia, they're not allowed to.
By the way, in the last four weeks, Russian banks as a whole have seen more withdrawals than deposits by a substantial margin. So that reported 20% liquid holding is very questionable. But even 20% would not be nearly enough in a low-confidence climate. We're now just waiting for a shock event that would cause the depositors to line up to demand withdrawal of all of their money, in the well-established Russian tradition.
What event...? Maybe a mass mobilization, which would show clearly that the Russians have been lied to about this war and that it is going badly.

The real underlying reason for the strikes on Wildberries. It's not due to the SVO section selling body armor.

They finance most of the sellers through credit. And they sit on a debt pile that The Bell and Russian analysts put north of 1.3 trillion rubles, with half a trillion of it owed to VTB.

Russia debuts upgraded Iskander-1000 missile in one of summer strikes on Kyiv – intelligence

During one of the combined missile strikes on Kyiv this summer, Russia used an upgraded ballistic missile, the 9M723-2 — also known by the informal designation Iskander-1000 — for the first time, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (HUR) reported on Aug. 27.
The missile is part of a system known as Bora-M.
"Thanks to an enlarged engine and correspondingly larger launcher, the upgraded missile can strike targets at a distance of up to 550 kilometers (about 340 miles), compared to 390 kilometers (about 240 miles) for the 9M723-1. The rest of the missile's components remain identical to the 9M723-1 [Iskander-M — ed.]," HUR said.
Intelligence officials stressed that Russian forces have increasingly relied on ballistic missiles as their primary means of aerial attack in recent months.
"The fact that these strikes occur mostly at night, and that the flight time of ballistic missiles to the Ukrainian capital is only a few minutes, points to their purely terrorist nature," intelligence officials said.
Ukrainian intelligence also published on the War&Sanctions portal a list of 140 Russian and foreign-made components identified in the 9M723 Iskander-M missile, along with data on 35 companies involved in producing these missiles and more than 100 of their officials and employees.
"Only a quarter of the 140 components published today are manufactured by Russian companies," intelligence officials said. “Nearly half — 63 — come from U.S. manufacturers, eight each from Switzerland and Belarus, four each from Germany and Taiwan, and three from China.”
Notably, in one of the missile's most critical guidance-system components — the unit that processes flight data from the laser gyroscope — only 5 of 43 components are made in Russia.

Is this a feint to draw Ukrainian troops away from the south and east or does this signal the opening of a new front. Time will tell.
The last time Russia attacked from this direction Ukraine stopped them cold, partially because Russia was forced to stick to the roads and avoid the muddy fields in the spring. Now if they do it at the start of winter instead of the end of winter, they should have more viable routes available.
Can Ukraine's drones stop a major invasion from the North? I don't see how Ukraine can deploy the same manpower levels it did in the opening months of the war. Does Ukraine have enough anti-armor weapons, mines, and artillery to repulse an attack...you rarely see video of anti-tank missiles on the battlefield anymore.

This is probably the smartest way they can deploy an influx of new troops. I know we have discussed a few times ways they would actually leverage those troops.... Seems like the picture is becoming more clear. Stretch out the line and really test Ukraine's manpower.
A major country's capital being under a threat that close is really dystopian. I hope Ukriane has a good answer for it.
