There are none around here. Last one I've seen was between Jackson, MS and Memphis. Waffle House wasn't bad until recently. They changed the oil used for frying eggs, as did IHOP, and now taste crappy.

Trump urged Zelenskyy to accept Putin's terms, saying Russia could "destroy" Ukraine, FT reports
KATERYNA TYSHCHENKO — 19 October, 20:45
During his 17 October meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump reportedly pressed him to accept Russia's conditions for ending the war, warning that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin had threatened to "destroy" Ukraine if it refused.
Source: Financial Times, citing sources
Quote: "Donald Trump urged Volodymyr Zelenskyy to accept Russia's terms for ending its war in a volatile White House meeting on Friday, warning that Vladimir Putin had said he would 'destroy' Ukraine if it did not agree. The meeting between the US and Ukrainian presidents descended many times into a 'shouting match', with Trump 'cursing all the time', people familiar with the matter said."
Details: Although Ukraine eventually convinced Trump to back freezing the current front line, the tense encounter underscored the volatility of his stance on the war and his apparent willingness to accommodate Putin's extreme demands, the FT wrote.
European officials briefed on the meeting said Trump appeared to echo many of Putin's talking points almost verbatim, even when they contradicted his own recent remarks about Russia's weakness.
According to one European official, Trump told Zelenskyy he should make a deal or face destruction, warning him: "If [Putin] wants it, he will destroy you."
At one point, the US president reportedly pushed aside maps of the battlefield, dismissing further discussion of the situation.
The FT confirmed that during their phone call on Thursday, "Putin made a new offer to Trump on Thursday under which Ukraine would surrender the parts of the eastern Donbas region under its control in exchange for some small areas of the two southern frontline regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia".
The proposal was described as only a minor concession compared to Putin's previous offer during his August meeting with Trump in Alaska, when he suggested freezing the front line elsewhere if Ukraine ceded Donbas.
According to the FT, Trump's aggressive repetition of Putin's rhetoric during the Friday meeting "dashed hopes among many of Ukraine's European allies" that he could be persuaded to strengthen support for Kyiv.
Three other European officials briefed on the White House discussions confirmed that Trump spent much of the meeting lecturing Zelenskyy, reiterating Putin's arguments about the war and urging him to accept the Russian offer.
One of the officials said Zelenskyy was "very negative" afterward, adding that European leaders were "not optimistic but pragmatic with planning next steps".

Seems like the rate of advance continues to be higher than it has been in a while.
In terms of territory, the big deal is that Ukraine is finally about to lose Pokrovsk. It's been a year since it was "imminent," but the pocket is now too tight, and Ukraine is putting troops in danger by leaving them in the city right now. They have to get out.

The big deal is that Trump is about to help Putin take more than just Pokrovsk, and help set the stage for him to take the rest of Ukraine in the future.

The waffles don’t seem to be as good.
My theory is that since the outlawed smoking, the batter isn’t “seasoned” the same.

Its strategic value is far less than a year ago when it was the crossroads to points north and south along the frontline.

LOL, no. The US is still helping Ukraine target Russian energy sites, and we are still helping the Europeans buy American military equipment for Ukraine. They've already purchased over $2 billion so far.
My prediction is that the Budapest meeting doesn't happen. Trump really doesn't want to be embarrassed by setting everyone's expectations that there will be a deal, only to get nothing accomplished.
No deal will happen until Putin is ready for it, and I don't think he's anywhere close yet.

Major Russian gas plant forced to suspend gas intake following Ukrainian drone attack
October 20, 2025 6:00 am
Russia's Orenburg gas processing plant was forced to halt gas intake from Kazakhstan on Oct. 19 following a Ukrainian drone attack on the facility, Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry announced.
The plant, which is located in the southwestern Orenburg Oblast and is the largest of its kind in the world, was targeted in a drone strike, Ukraine's military said earlier in the day.
Regional Governor Yevgeny Solntsev reported that a fire had broken out within a workshop of the plant, causing damage to the Gazprom-owned facility. The plant has the capacity to process upwards of 45 billion cubic metres of gas per year.
The Kyiv Independent cannot verify claims made by Russian officials.
No timeline was provided for a resumption of the plant's operations immediately following the attack.

Russian troops infiltrate Kupyansk, battles erupt in Pokrovsk – expert
October 20, 2025, 07:31 AM
Russian forces are infiltrating Kupyansk with ordinary infantry in small groups, seizing about a third of the city, while battles have begun in Pokrovsk using similar tactics, war veteran Yevhen Dykyi told Radio NV on Oct. 20.
Dykyi, a former Aidar battalion company commander and director of the National Antarctic Scientific Center, described how Russian forces operate in both cities.
"On Kupyansk, we have heard they are seeping in and there is a cleanup underway — by the way, even some of our top military commanders have mentioned sabotage groups — forget that, this is not about sabotage groups, it is plain regular line infantry," Dykyi said.
It is not a handful of special forces deep in the rear trying to "cause trouble," he added.
"No, it is regular line infantry, and there is a lot of it; they just do not come in mechanized columns or parade formation — they come in small groups, but these groups follow one after another, and their task is not just to sow chaos [in the Ukrainian armed forces], but to capture the city and dig in," said Dykyi.
The veteran stressed that despite two months of statements about clearing sabotage groups from Kupyansk, the reality is that "about a third or half the city is already really under Russian control."
"They achieved this not with mechanized columns, but by sending in a large number of these small groups, a significant portion of which — up to 90% — just dies, but what is left is enough to consolidate. Then new groups pull up to them," he said.
Russians are using a similar tactic in Pokrovsk, added Dykyi.
"We are now saying battles have started in Pokrovsk," the veteran stated.
“I would phrase it that way. That is, Russians are trying to enter Pokrovsk; so far, it is localized to one of its outskirts. But in Kupyansk, it started from one of the outskirts too.”

Operable even with damage, unless it was the compressor station sending methane gas into a pipeline to market.
There are multiple parallel process units for each stage. First being 5 each Amine units to remove sulfur compounds and CO2, identical in design. Afterwards demethanizing units then fractionation units of the NGL's and finally stabilization of Pentanes +

With the economy in the toilet or at least on the rim of the bowl, widespread gas shortages, and hundreds of thousands of casualties in the war so far, if he isn't ready now he must know something we don't.
Or like some reports speculate, he is being told things that aren't accurate. Probably a little of both.
