dominic bought cheap ammo for plinking and hunting, so it was FMJ, big deal

Ritt had no idea what was in the gun, and he certainly didnt plan on using it

Exactly. Kyle wasn't going there to shoot. The gun was supposed to be a visual deterrent.

Yeah it's not good. Not good for the prosecution. Like judge said, prosecutor is testifying which is such a desperate move, to knowingly break such common rules, like day 1 criminal trial 101 stuff. Straight desperation.

I'm not exactly calling bullshite but MOST people have hollow points bc they'll stop the perp; thinking they won't pass thru the perp rarely comes to mind.

which is what you'd actually want for self defense.

Having FMJ is a bad thing for defense.

Wrong. For specifically inflicting damage a hollow point would be the cartridge of choice.

But the fact is 99% of recreational shooters just shoot whatever without any intent either way based on bullet type.

He's trying to portray that Kyle chose FMJ ammo because they over penetrate

If Rittenhouse chose hollow points he'd try to say Kyle chose them for the purpose of killing. Dude needs to be disbarred

But they didn't. He had 4 targets, hit 3. He did not shoot any unintended targets.

Irrelevant.

If there is anyone on the jury who understands about bullets, that person is going to tell the jury how idiotic this all was.

It seems that the prosecutor is trying to say that Ritt was putting more people in danger b/c FMJ is more likely to pass through the target.

Evidence doesnt show that. Kyle shot 8 times ( I think) with 6 of those rounds hitting their intended target. There are a lot of police officers (older with more firearms training) who dont do that in a live fire situation.

Kyle is cool under pressure.

Hollow point in a rifle caliber has got to be a remarkably small under 1% total of the market

The relevance is no where to be found anyways

He's doing very well, but we have yet to even get to one interaction.

ETA: I'm rooting for Kyle. Just not celebrating yet is my point.

i'm not sure it will get that far. i think the prosecutor is incapable of getting out of his own way.

judge may declare a mistrial with prejudice long before bing bong gets to that point with kyle.

Also, because he had FMJ loaded that KR was intending to cause a mass shooting

which is the only thing prosecution has that has any weight at all

Wish KR had loaded with hollow points just for that reason.

None of the rounds that hit their target over penetrated, even at point-blank range

i buy the cheapest 223 i can given the price of ammo thats not crap steel.

ARs are notoriously finicky and the last thing you want to do is run some nonstandard rounds through it.

This. FMJ ammo is the cheapest ammo I’ve ever been able to find. This ADA is reaching all over for anything, and failing badly.
