I can't imagine Kennedy would want to be governor. He wouldn't be insulated from criticism behind a do nothing job like Treasurer. He would create a record that people would criticize. All the "solutions" he claimed to have while treasurer would be exposed as drivel.

You are expecting politicians to be logically consistent?

That's my point. How anyone can vote for an Edwards after what Edwin did is beyond me.

You won't get anything changed until you shake up the legislature and involuntarily retire guys like Alario, et al. So long as you have the old guard in there noting will change .

Also if you really want to shake things up, call a friggin Constitutional Convention and start talking about things that handcuff this state that the legislators won't touch. Put EVERYTHING on the table including the Homestead Exemption and things that are protected statutorially

Edwards has done an overall fine job.

If Kennedy can go back to being an intelligent person he’d be ok. I’m sick of his fake country boy routine.

Jeff Landry should be restocking the steam tables at Piccadilly. That’s what he would be doing if he hadn’t gotten control of his father in law’s money.

Eddie Rispone

Remember this name and don't be surprised if he's your next governor. He might be the one man in Louisiana that can actually fix things.

I think kennedy and Landry should swap. I think Landry is a moron, but at least we know if we sent him to DC, he would support the President’s agenda, and generally could do less harm to the state in the senate.

mytigger is right.

This reminds me so much of 1995. Bunch of politicians running and along comes Foster.

Rispone is my candidate.

People are going to like him. Kennedy and Landry should forget it.

Only Scalise can stop a guy like this. Money will be no object for him. His conservative creditentals are legit. He is very well respected.

Scalise isnt' going to run for governor, he's right where he needs to be in the House.

It's still crazy as hell that Louisiana truly and well lost its mind in putting the political twin of Edwin Edwards into the Governor's mansion.

Hopefully we can correct that next year.

It isn't that crazy. This is not a conservative state. It is a populist state. We elect leaders who are colorful not those who are effective.

How anyone with the last name of Edwards ever got elected in Louisiana is insane.

Edwin did win the governor's race 4 times. LA isn't as conservative or republican as many would think. It's conservatism is a mile wide and an inch deep.

I've always contended, a fairly sizable number of votes JBE received, were from people thinking they were getting to vote for EWE again.

It's truly sad.

Fine job, only if the worst economy in the country is called a fine job. We are losing population. Our young college grads can't find good jobs and leave. He passed a Billion dollar plus tax hike in the teeth of a state recession.

But lawyers, nursing home folks and film people love him.

Wait until the Medicaid Expansion hits the fan. Paying for that is coming soon.

anyone who wants Jeff Landry for governor immediately has their opinion invalidated. He's not qualified for the job he currently holds. A 2nd year law student is probably more knowledgeable than him

We should give Landry credit for standing up to JBE on the oil company lawsuits he dreams of.
