I thought the point was that she referenced it as the only private sector experience she ever had. So now it turns out she has no private sector experience.

As a young gal she had moved to Canada up until college. She was living in an elitist atmosphere and would not have been in the situation of having to work or wanting to work

Worked at mcds in highschool and after during the summer before college. Doesn't appear on any of my resumes either...

Not mentioning it would be fine. But, she brought it up during her presidential campaign, at a visit to McDonalds, to try and make it seem like she understands the commoners.
One of the beefs against Kamala is that she has lived off the government teet most of her working life..and she can't relate whatsoever with people who work in the private sector.
Most of us, wouldn't think of bringing up summer jobs because we grew up and had better jobs to select from to bring up. Kamala doesn't have that. To her, a potential summer job as a kid is one of the only adventures she has had in the private sector. And even that may have been a lie.
