They did the same for my kids. Of course we are still in virtual school so it’s an empty gesture.

My late grandmother lived alone in a five bedroom 3,000 SF home in suburban Atlanta. Her county delivered her free food weekly, much of which she froze.
I was the executor of her will, she passed away with an net worth of $1.1M

The school gets more money from the govt based on the number of free lunch students. They're making money off your free lunch, not losing money.

More proof you live in fantasy land.
There is no such thing.

You're still paying for the lunch anyway (taxes and tuition).
That's the way I see it too.

The real winner is the large farm operations that are paying pennies on the dollar in taxes because of agricultural use and getting paid bank by the USDA.

He made it better after Bush and Obama drove it into the ditch with their wars , handouts and globalism.

Thanks for bring up food stamps/SNAP.
When did the gov't become the parents? The gov't decides what is being taught and what the kids will be fed in school.
I don't know what the SNAP money is being used for since the parents don't have to feed their kids. One meal a day and it is probably a Lunchables or chips and pop.

Why am I a loser? Yes, please help me understand how offering free lunches to kids makes this a shitty country. Do you realize how perverse that sounds?

Yep. Feed the kids. The parents need to support themselves.
At my youngest's elementary school every kid is getting breakfast and lunch both for free till the end of the year. I would be totally fine with them expanding that to all kids full time and reducing food stamps to make up the difference.
