It boggles the mind. Chicago is supposed to basically be a gun free zone. Democrats control every aspect of Chicago. That shite mayor keeps saying it's a gun issue. Then for frick's sake, go into those gang territories and get those guns. The law abiding citizens have already been fricked over by those laws, ensuring that only the violent criminals there have guns. Every step Democrats take towards gun control only targets the law abiding citizens. It does nothing to curb the insane shootings in south Chicago.
It's even worse when you remember that in places like Chicago, even when fricking gangbangers get arrested with guns, they are almost immediately released and put back on the street.

The Highland Park shooting happened in a rich, liberal and mostly Jewish suburb. This of course was horrible. 7 people killed with others wounded. But this is the westside and/or southside of Chicago body count on a typical summer weekend. This weekend 10 people were wounded at a party. So so media attention. If this happened in Naperville, LaGrange, Barrington or Deerfield then there would be cries to ban all guns.

That's definitely true and it's definitely intentional.
By not including gang shootings in "mass shootings" statistics, the media are able to frame a narrative about mass shootings that removes a lot of minorities from the statistics since most of the gang mass shootings are by blacks and Hispanics.
