A bunch of them are going to be WFH employees that have no intention of returning to the office. It’s voluntary.

Many of them have had their jobs switched from remote to the office and they have no intention of going in and plan on having yo quit anyway. No reason to pay them.

So that's what is going to end uo happening, and the others? There are other ways to do it. They aren't on airtight contracts. If he wants to downsize the Govt workforce, it's going to get done. That was just the easiest way for both parties.

This was only ever going to get rid of folks who are near retirement or remote employees who live more than 50 miles from an agency office.

Tis but a segment. Next will be removal of probationary employees...however they have to be fired with cause.

Then RIF. Which goes on tenure, etc.

RIF them.

It's a good thing the government never made 8-tracks, cassettes, VHS tapes, or sliderules. If they had, they'd still be making them.

It's voluntary sure.

But there are kinks to work out. For instance Federal law says only 10 days of admin leave are allowed per year except in special cases.

So Trump will just fire them.

Let’s see how it plays out.

When it was a voluntary resignation - then it was simpler because there were much less legal requirements to be met.

When there is termination, then I understand that’s a different legal threshold to be met. Especially for federal employees.

Again, we need some labor lawyers to jump in and clarify.

Yall have to understand there are procedures in law that need to be followed and Trump can't just say your all fired. He can do that with specific employees, but not all.

K a lot of this was geared to work from home employees that didn’t want to return to an office so were taking this.

The OPM memo directed civilians to return to work by 7 Feb or 14 Feb for those bargaining status employees. As this draws many of those employees will have missed the return to work deadline which opens the door for disciplinary action/potentially up to release

Move the office locations..

"A" Department is moving to Podunk, Iowa

"B" Department is moving to Shitsville, Missouri

"C" Department is moving to frickyou, North Dakota

"D" Department is moving to GetBent, Alaska

Cost of living is much lower in those cities, so your salary will be $X instead of $Y. If you accept the position, we will pay for all of your moving expenses. If you do not accept the position, we will pay you $10,000 to help you transition to your new job.

Let us know. Thanks.

Signed,
Big Dick Trump

We should not be surprised by such things.

The Deep State is going to pull out every available thing in its toolbox to try and save itself.

The implementation of the memo is different agency to agency. For instance I know of some people who are non-bargaining unit that have to return by February 24th. However bargaining unit employees haven't been told to return

He offered a deferred resignation program and if accepted, they will receive a severance. Now that a judge has blocked Trumps offer, he can move forward eliminating positions and doesn't have to pay anyone a dime.

I have always thought the branched were separate but equal. How can a Judge prevent a branch from make hiring and firing decisions? Where is the "standing"?

It happens every time. It's going to the courts now so...on to the next thing for now is how I see it playing for now. Then repeat...
