Josh Hawley… Future SCOTUS or POTUS?

I mean, if I were running for president and this guy was on the stage with me I would be worried. That includes the primaries that includes the general. I mean I can’t see this guy being on a stage that he doesn’t own.
But I’m not sure that’s the best place for him because I think we could use some intellectually honest conservatives on the SCOTUS. I mean his ability to make arguments and to bring the hammer is beyond his years.

He's the kind of model for what a republican senator should be. Got to have fighters. Democrats will ignore criminal behavior if it puts them in a superior position. Look at their idol Fauci and Minnesota fraud. This is not the country I grew up in anymore.

He’s great in hearings and for sound bites and I’m sure he gets a lot of fundraising mileage out of his entertaining committee questioning. But what has he ever really done? What is his signature legislation? I’m glad we have him but I’m not sure he has the gravitas - at least right now - to be the leader of the free world.

He’s a good person to have in Congress or the Senate. The energy is good for sound bites. Dropping the F bomb was a bit much. If folks want anything to come from these hearings, they’re going to have to stay on point and even keeled.

Why don't you ask that of the entire body of senators. Republicans can eke out a majority for some votes. If "signature legislation" required 60 votes for cloture, nobody will get signature legislation. The best they can do is use reconciliation for a majority vote which at times can keep the government running. So I don't throw shade on Josh.

Hawley and Kennedy are the best at questioning in committee hearings. Each has their own style but Hawley is a bulldog and can sniff out a lie like a bloodhound at a sausage convention.

I used to think Hawley had that "it", now I think he's probably just another politician with a suit and tie, nice haircut and a law degree. He comes across quite frequently as a bit rehearsed and stiff.

He’s polished and fiery in these hearings but he isn’t some MAGA trailblazer fighting for what the voters want.

I could see him as a potential VP pick but I don't see him throwing his name in for president in the 28 cycle.

I like Josh as a senator. Great that he defeated mccaskill and got her out of congress but he will never be POTUS or SCOTUS. Also suggesting someone to become either based upon a hearing is a knee jerk reaction.
