I like when the sane Russians says, "did they think the enemy would just fricking run away?"

I believe the term "Schlonged" would be appropriate here.

This does set a tone. Unfortunately any future incursions from the other side will be much better planned and manned/equipped.

Unless its Bengahazi.

Somehow a place we cannot get to at all in 13 hours.

Just shows you that our leadership is the real weakness our country has in military strength. Does no good if you have leaders who are cowards.

While I enjoy us waving our dicks around and killing people as much as anyone, what threat did these contractors pose?

Not trying to defend them, just wondering why we would unleash Hiroshima style attack on some rando group of contractors in a place where we are supposedly not at war.

Hopefully Soros is paying attention.

Poor Johnny Ringo. He was just too high strung.

Yes. And go back a bit in time.....

How about, unless it's Mogadishu....

The common thread is filthy disgusting weak cowardly leftist sniveling appeasing democrats in power.

Had the jug eared muslim loving community organizer been in the White House for this past February 7th, this would have been reported as a tragic military defeat as a U.S. outpost was over run.

Something we all should take note of is what WE WERE DOING THERE.
Our blood and treasure guarding an oil refinery when we are net producers of both crude oil and natural gas.

So since WE THE PEOPLE don't need Syrian oil, why are WE guarding it ?
We're the muscle for international business interest that's why.

. . . and there are no plans to take any payoff from this oil revenue if it ever turns profitable for our side.

The USA, in the Middle East alone, already spends more per year than the ENTIRE annual defense budget of the United Kingdom.

I don’t think that can be denied, but this was more about sending a message imho. Our military is tired of being painted into a corner. If we are proactive, it allows us to lead from the front. Hell, China has a half dozen military bases in the Spratlys Islands now. We will have to deal with them in time. 30% of the worlds commerce goes through the South China Sea. Between this and the “new Silk Road”, China and Russia are going to be economic adversaries as time goes by. Isolationist policies, like with the Spratlys Islands, only sows the seeds of more in depth issues down the road. Russia, Turkey, and Iran were dick measuring in the region. Our military had a hard on, case closed.

....? Those Russian contractors and their Syrian cohorts outnumbered the Americans 600 to 40 and they were attacking the Americans. That's the very definition of "posing a threat."

10. To add insult to injury, B-52s which, you know, just HAPPENED to be in the area, just minding our own business, just passing by from Diego Garcia which is a few thousand miles away, on our way to... somewhere... nothing to see here... decided to prove they could drop their entire load as precision guided weapons and just more or less DID A JDAM ARCLIGHT ON THEIR arse. At that point, more or less because CENTCOM said 'Why not? ARCLIGHT is always pretty to watch...'

I honestly forgot that I posted in it back then. The nice thing is that after reviewing my post, I still agree %100 with my initial assessment.

Anyone who watched the entire video, near the end the text described the "electronic warfare" used against the Russians/Syrians.

The U.S. put the opposing forces into a complete communications blackout.
