Technically he’s right. The term due process is what’s used to describe all the rights an accused has (right to counsel, remain silent, face and cross examine your accuser, speedy and public trial, and on and on). Instead of saying all that we just say someone’s right to due process or due process rights, but due process is not an actual singular right.

not only are you wrong, you're so wrong that you don't realize there are actually TWO forms of due process rights (procedural and substantive)

also, the 5th Amendment:

What was the context of the discussion?

Ie was he saying it wasn’t a right in some total non-court related issue? Like public opinion, or something like that?
