re: I’ve noticed Pope Leo seems selective on the current affairs he chimes in on…

All that being said, Leo has a really bad habit of chiming in on hot button items, but goes noticeably absent on others. He doesn’t have much to say about the abortion mills in his own home state or the gang violence in Chicago.
The catholic church has put on a clinic over the last couple of years while Protestants continue to get weaker on their social/political messaging. Understatement of the century?
Here's a newsflash, the social and political is inherently theological. The gospel doesn't pick and choose what to redeem. It touches nothing less than the entire world.

What are your thoughts on being the iron mixed with the clay?

The church is who is chiming in. The church has major investments and influence.

First time interacting with prots?
The entirety of their faith depends on telling everyone they meet that Catholics are not really Christian. Other than the zip lines and laser shows not failing so people show up to their churches to be entertained.
But to your OP, here’s some of what he’s said about the Christian massacres in Africa:

If tweet fails to load, click here. On abortion:
quote:
“cuts short a growing life and refuses to welcome the gift of life.”
quote:
"God's mercy calls us to protect every life, especially those society overlooks—the child yet to be born and the elderly nearing their journey's end—because each bears Christ's face."
quote:
"We cannot build a just society if we discard the weakest—whether the child in the womb or the elderly in their frailty—for they are both gifts from God."
quote:
"Western mass media is extraordinarily effective in fostering within the general public enormous sympathy for beliefs and practices that are at odds with the Gospel—for example abortion, homosexual lifestyle, euthanasia,"
On gang violence:
quote:
"peace is not something we must invent: it is something we must embrace by accepting our neighbor as a brother and as our sister."
quote:
"We hold in our prayers the countless children killed and injured every day around the world," Leo said. “Let us plead God to stop the pandemic of arms, large and small, which infects our world."
He’s spoken at length about the issues you claim he has not. Don’t allow yourself to be manipulated by these prots. Their issue is not with the Pope, but with Catholicism itself. They seek to discredit our faith through a misrepresentation of facts and the Pope.

quote:
There’s a question of terrorism. There’s a question that has to do a lot with economics, if you will, and control of the lands that they have,” the pope continued
Wait a minute. The other points you made were good. This one is excusing the terrorists as having “economic” justification.

Correct. 59% of Catholic converts are former Protestants.
We’re winning and they hate it.

Baptist, Presbyterian, now unknown.
There’s a lot more at play here, but the dual combo is killer.
1. Protestantism is disappearing rapidly by going low church. Historic Protestants, the real ones, would not recognize 90% of low church gatherings.
2. Trump has co opted the only life of the mind that evangelicals have—the political one.
Back to the disappearance of Protestants…they’re either becoming non denominational, which is close to nothing, or even the “important” Protestant denominations, the ones with a liturgy and a historical claim to being Protestant, are being hollowed out.
They’re losing their distinctiveness. Lines are being blurred.
So thinking Prots who have not been brainwashed by politics have one or two obvious choices.
Your statistic is evidence of that.

What makes this death different than all the deaths in Chicago or babes your party happily murders daily? Sounds like he’s being political to a normal person

Pope Leo is an Islamist.

Dude clearly hates Americans. The church is corrupt. Obviously.

He, like Francis before him, opines on just about all of those issues. However, the media only reports on statements from the Roman pontiff that fit their worldview. Pope Leo is neither a Republican or a Democrat in the traditional sense. The views of the Church transcend both left and right wing politics and will, therefore, piss off people on both sides of the aisle.

yet everything the rcc does contradicts the Bible and Jesus christ.
This is always the fall back argument that Prots use but they can never give examples or biblical evidence to the contrary.
You're just parroting what your preacher is telling you from the pulpit.
