If tweet fails to load, click here. I’m not scared of AI… but I’m very scared of Dario/Anthropic begging for regulatory capture with evil Dems like Obama helping them. Dario thinks Anthropic will be the last major company in the US and be a quasi government (he’s specifically said this).
I know some are worried about AI… but realize that all this hysteria is meant to scare the public and call for AI regulation because open source models are cheaper and catching up to the frontier labs (Anthropic, Open AI, XAI) so they want to regulate them out of existence and they’ll decide just how woke AI will be for the future

If it becomes what many project it could,
Company control will be the least of our concerns.
However, I wish this attitude reflected anywhere else in politics economically. Maybe then we wouldn't be run by a corporate oligarchy.

This and this. Listen to the podcast with Andreessen, one of the top venture capital guys in AI. Remember the meeting with biden admin and the top fellas.....and Elon was not invited. He said he walked out of that meeting shocked, their plan was exactly what 66 just posted.
He had watched them try and crush crypto companies he had invested in and even personally debanked individuals to ruin them. And realized they would do the same to AI.

China wants us to lose the AI race.
You can bet that they are behind a lot of the "Data Centers Are Bad" and "AI is scary" stories that are circulating. You don't see ANYONE in China complaining about data centers or AI.
They have an all out propaganda war they are waging against us.
When you see all of this pushback, just think "How does the USA slowing down on this help China?" And then you know...

Ah the ole "run wild" theory. I think that is what the church accused Galileo of by proving the heliocentric model, that the sun was the center of our universe and not Earth.
We have had incredible advances in various fields through primary research, that ended up with results different from the original thesis. That doesnt mean you just regulate it into obscurity using some 80 year old senators to decide our future.

I just think there is a lot of herd mentality on this board. People swallowed an Axios propaganda piece that muh China is telling us to be scared of AI, now everyone is so clever and has it figured out that China wants us to "lose the race." I do agree that any government intervention needs to be scrutinized so as not to pick winners.
