but if those people did shoot you for snooping on their porches they’d go to prison for murder.

What if you tried to walk through their front door? What then?

this tragic incident underscores why ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ policies like so-called ‘Stand Your Ground’ laws do far more harm than good.

Stand your ground laws do not allow one to shoot any stranger who knocks on your door.

Missouri’s SYG law:

Missouri provisionally allows citizens to use lethal force in order to protect themselves, or protect someone else against the threat of death or great bodily harm, and additionally they may use lethal force to stop the commission of several forcible felonies, such as rape, burglary, home invasion, robbery, child molestation, and more.

The story makes it sound like he rang the doorbell politely and was blown away by the homeowner.

And if that's what happened then the homeowner is criminally liable.

are we to accept that he kindly tapped on the door and then the homeowner simply blasted away at him before Yarl said anything or moved?

Your mind seems made up. Maybe that's exactly what happened. Why not wait until the facts come out, otherwise you will sound as stupid as the source in the OP yapping about stand your ground laws.

I've heard from cops that... some people... have skulls that are more resistant.

Stand Your Ground’ laws do far more harm than good. These laws breed a society of violence and fear while providing cover for those who harm, maim and kill others

Right. Those laws are far more dangerous and deadly than your average Bloods, Crips, Latin Kings and MS13 thugs who spend their productive lives out in the streets peacefully murdering their predominantly cosmopolitan rival sophisticants every hour from coast to coast in every liberal stronghold.

Clearly Rep. Terry is focused on the issues that matter, not that inconsequential ghetto violence that plagues parts of K.C.

How the hell do stand your ground laws have anything to do with a homeowner being confronted with a pointing finger used to ring a door bell?

Was he defending the door bell button?

Oh IF and I stress IF this is true, you and your fellow groomers are going to have a field day.

White guy, Christian, etc.

Fits all the boxes for making you actually care about a black person being shot at.

Mao didn’t even bother to read what the book is about. It’s a pastoral counseling book for dealing with people who struggle with anger.
