It might be true. Because every day on early morning radio I hear PSAs that say 1 out of every 5 children in America is starving. So, we might just be living out of the mainstream of real problems.

I would have to question the motivation of the source for the study given its ties to the church.
Lets just say I think there is certain motivation to inflate a number like this is order to cause a potential overreaction. With that said, I would also assume LGBT is defined very loosely as it relates to this study given the conservative nature of a Christian university and its teachings.

there are 5 or 6 BILLION more people now than when i was in 8th grade. there were only 800 million chinese and 500 million indians.

It is a social construct and the funny thing is the truly gay folks have allowed their movement to be high jacked in multiple ways and they don’t even know it…

I would doubt that is a true accurate percentage but given the age demographic who are greatly influenced by what popular culture promotes as “cool” or “fashionable” or “edgy” it’s not entirely surprising that a percentage would identify as such because they want to see themselves and identify themselves as popular and “modern”.
Hollywood, news, advertising have all gone to great lengths to portray the gay community as being smart, level headed and generally “cool”.
Popular culture in any era has a tremendous influence for the young people in a given era and I think these numbers are a reflection of that vs. actual numbers who are living their lives as such.
