Liberal parents are probably statistically more likely to have one child. They're also companions of the child, so their values probably pass on even more easily.

I would also suspect some sort of liberal lean as a result of the lack of sibling dynamics - fighting, meritocracy, negotiation, lack of seriousness/humor, etc.

Only children typically have a good relationship with their parents.

Liberal ideology through various positions they support either intentionally or by consequence effectively results in its strictest adherents rejecting meaningful relationships.

"Don't get married, don't have kids, don't be part of a religious community, if your mom/dad/uncle/grandma has the wrong views just cut her out of your life", etc.

Only children value relationships with their parents more because once they die they don't have siblings they grew up with to fall back on. They typically spend more time when they are younger either at church or with extended family. They value the type of relationships that liberals reject probably more than most demographic groups.
