Latinos are far more “traditional” (some might even equate that to “conservative”) and culture of machismo, definitely not a “woke-heavy culture. Some people won’t or can’t understand that.

Because Latinos aren’t the only Illegal Immigrants or children of Illegal Immigrants there now. We offer birthright citizenship. Every single Muslim and Indian no matter if they are here Illegally or on one of the various Visa programs who spits out a child - that child is an American citizen from day one then can later be used as a pawn for ‘chain migration’. We are the dumbest country on planet earth when it comes to this. Thats how Texas has been transformed the last 25 years.

Texas has a huge rural population that will vote overwhelmingly red. Until the DNC cracks that code they won’t win a senate or governor’s race. Beto tried campaigning in those areas and shot himself in the foot. Talabanfreako has stuck to the party’s strongholds, and the echo chamber has gotten louder but the results will be the same, although maybe closer.

How exactly are actual Texans supposed to stop illegal immigration if the Feds won't help? We can't deport them. We can't exactly round them up and put them in TDC. And even the ones who do serve time in TDC for breaking state laws don't always get deported. DPS can't do immigration raids. There is this little problem about immigration being a federal law.

And if/when Texas goes blue, it won't be because of the illegals. It will be because Perry/Abbott and gang, threw the doors open for business. Any business! So you get carpetbaggers, Indians(dot), Muslims and every other POS that has no real interest in upholding Texas culture.

Tried this a few years ago. Federal judges and the biden border patrol stopped texas from putting up border deterrences/obstructions and destroyed the ones that were installed.
A vote for talarico os a vote for the exact same movement that gave us this:

The point is that what the state can do is very limited. Trump is improving the situation. The left will not allow this country to make meaningful changes to the law to deport anchor babies because they are critical to the proliferation of their ideology.
They know it’s easy to import and very difficult to export. This is their playbook.

Honestly, ICE is a big part of it. There are a lot of legal Hispanics in Texas that have felt targeted (or have heard things) from people being profiled even though they are here legally.
Those people care about border security a ton, which is one of the big reasons Trump carried them in 24, but not to the point where they are concerned about their own livelihood.

It's wild that when people bad polling numbers come in, the default response is to blame immigration and then gerrymander, rather than get with the times on key political issues.
I don't think the bat shite crazy positions are you call them are anywhere near as bad as some of the policies that democrats have enacted over the last years they were in control. Other than OMB, what policies have democrats said that they would do to "fix" the economy, help people keep money in their pockets etc.? All I have seen is keep all illegals here, healthcare for all, reparations, and free palestine which means sky high taxes for EVERYONE.

Texas is going blue this cycle not because of any love for the Democrats, but because of serious Republican shortcomings:
1. Abbott fatigue. Heck he's been governor for what, 16 years already? And nobody think he's done a good job.
2. Dan Patrick is a dork
3. Ken Paxton is a sleazeball and a monster who released a child predator after just one day in prison
4. Trump is a millstone around the neck of all Republican candidates since the war started, esp those he endorses, like Paxton.
