It seems to have gone away so far.
Look at the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

It will go away as soon as the masses realize they cant buy avocado toast or iPhones or whatever under socialism.

I'm actually on board with socialism or sharia law which ever gets here first. The soyboys and feminazis who are calling for it to be brought to america will suffer the most and fastest.

Heck no.

It's a serious threat to humanity. Tyrannical leaders have used this form of government to kill millions of people, maybe billions.

It must be eradicated.

Socialism needs to start with Google, Apple, or the music industry for its romance to wane, not health care, energy, or other sectors that are somewhat abstract.

Go buy a government phone. Go sing government songs.

It is a fad among the young people who have zero understanding of what it actually means.

They fall in love with the equality and ease that it seems to espouse, while not taking into account that human nature is opposite of socialism. Don't care if we want to admit it or not, we crave competition, achievement, discovery, creativity, and personal growth. Literally every human on the planet is wired by nature to gravitate toward these things. Socialism attempts to put the kibosh on all that in exchange for security and faux "equality". The reality is that in the end, only those in charge actually get to have the human experience we all crave while the rest get to march toward an unrewarding death. That death is either a slow trudge toward eternity by compliance, or a swift death at the hands of the powerful because you spoke out for change. No in-between.

Forget the left-right arguments, Socialism is anti-human

Unfortunately, we usually have to live with it for about 4 years before we recognize it for the crock of shite that it is. Then it goes away for 6-8 years before resurfacing again

The enthusiasm for it usually sputters out after you run out of other people's money to steal.

Just ask Venezuela.

No. It never goes away. It's like a virus. It spreads. And it must be fought against vigorously. Ignorance, fraud, and apathy are the tools by which socialism prys into a society.

Ask anyone who has ever lived in a socialist country for atleast a decade ever in history if they like socialism. The answer will always be no. Because socialism leads to a massive consolidation of power, a forceful seizing of assets and production, bread lines, poverty, and death.

Socialism is all about making the majority of people equal. Useful idiots think this means equally happy and fat and wealthy. Any student of history will tell you socialism does achieve majority equality. Equally poor, starving and miserable. Every time. Without exception.

People should never ever trust their government. Ever. Every single action and any power granted should be put under a microscope and examined.

This insane faith in government on display in America with the progressive left and unfortunate indoctrinated youth is alarming to say the least

Only to the extent that they have nationalized means of production, which I think is pretty low in their cases. From what I recall, opening a business and complying with regulations is easier than it is in America, though it obviously varies from country to country. What they do have more of is a high tax burden that feeds in to universal social services, which can not be accurately ascribed as socialism, but is somewhat near. These kinds of programs work best/only within a homogeneous population with similar values, expectation of contribution, and perhaps even shared religious/ethnic qualities.
